Im in school for this right now (Health Care Assistant in BC, Canada) and basically we do the things that nurses and doctors cant/wont/dont do; like actually taking care of the patients. Everybody thinks nurses and doctors are the most important ones but HCA's help to make the patients feel like people, not just someone to be cut open or to shove drugs into. Yet HCA's (or PCNA's) get little to zero acknowledgement or respect.

PCNA, PCA, PCT, SA ARE ALL FANCY TITLES FOR THE CNA. YOU MUST SSIT FOR THE BOARDS TO WORK AS ONE

Christian A check with your local Hospital but from what I’ve seen reading job descriptions I believe you can work as a PCA/Tech/CNA while you are waiting on your credentials from another country to come through.

YES, IT'S JUST A FANCY TITLE MOSTLY USED BY HOSPITALS (PCA, PCT, SA)

Mastachad And that is to make the patient think they have a lot of education. In our state this is not the case. 3 weeks of computer training or 30 hours at a community college. In other less than 1 work week. This is pure bull.

Not really PCTs doing phlebotomy and EKG not the same
