If you’re involved in a lawsuit, a court may order you to go to a settlement conference but what is a settlement conference, you ask? A settlement conference is a way to see if your case can be settled without the need for a trial. That might sound like a mediation but they’re not the same. In addition to more clearly defining what a settlement conference is, I’ll also explain the difference between a settlement conference vs mediation, and I’ll provide you with 4 advantages to using a settlement conference for your lawsuit.

Hi Andrew, thanks so much for the informative video. I have a settlement conference coming up, I'm the plaintiff and the amount I asked for prior to agreeing to conference was way higher than what they responded with. Their amount, I felt at least, was almost a defensive posture statement "you don't have a case" maybe? I think the conference will be a waste of our time but I was recommended to do it. My damages are related to a master degree and a career in counseling that I cannot continue unless I get a satisfactory result :-/. Tough times for me right now. Good luck on KZfaq! I subscribed and look forward to future videos.
