I never knew about the notch indicating factory second. Glad I learned that for future purchases on the secondary market

Received a factory second today from the secondary market, and this vid came up in my feed. It's a Military. The blade centering was way off and the action was poor. Had a hard time flicking the thing. Everything else was fine. Took the knife apart and essentially rebuilt it. Centered the blade. Now its action is quite good. Very happy with the purchase. Took maybe ten minutes of easy effort. Nice factory grind, BTW.

I've had a few that should have been factory seconds that were way out of spec, bad grinds, off-center, pretty heavy lockstick on the compression lock, but yet passed on through. Hopefully their QC gets a little stronger. Kind of a rough deal when ordering online from an AD, sight unseen.

I purchased a horrible spyderco efficient earlier this year and it wasn't even a factory second. When it came, the blade centering was completely off, it was too tight to flick open reliably and the edge was not ground evenly or all the way to the tip. It's possible that I was very unlucky and got one bad out of a million, but now I am hesitant to order any spyderco knives that haven't already been carried, thoroughly tested, and praised by everyone in the knife community. I'm actually hoping it was a one in a million and that it doesn't happen again.

The Efficient is made in China. I'd stick to their blades made elsewhere - their US and Taiwan factories tend to be the best from what I've seen, followed by the Japanese and Italian Spydercos.

Funny! I bought your knife through the online store. They sent a knife in half with a cut blade. I could not imagine such horror!

Thats cool. What were the small fixed blades shown first. kydex sheath?

The ones in the middle look like ARK FRN's because of the distinct curves in the blades you can see through the kydex. The others could be Enuffs, or some other small models. Take a look here see if you spot them. www.spyderco.com/catalog/category/fixed-blades

That's a very good idea, in my country Spyderco are expensive and many people can not afford a 200€ pocket knife, I would like to have the chance to buy a factory second Chaman!

They are expensive everywhere, and yea Shaman is a great choice, were you able to finally get one? I bought a standard s30v stonewash a few weeks ago, and a TKJ cruwear exclusive last night, was very pricey 325$

My nicest feeling spyderco upon receipt is a factory second PM2 in maxamet. Seems better than any other normal stock I've purchased.

Okey...Never expect to meet a metal fans in the EDC corner😂 I saw KoRn in Japan in 2015 and 2018. They also had a big influence on Japanese band culture,such like Maximum The Hormone.

@@RIFFSandBLADES I’m not a massive knife guy, but I want a quality knife and a factory second sounds great. I think I got this video recommendation from watching a knife youtuber. (used to watch him a long time ago and subbed. Now I found him in my sub box I guess.) Now I need to find a good model and remember to buy one

@@micah_lee a factory second is PERFECT for you. A great new spyderco for dirt cheap. I recomend a spyderco para 3, native 5 or the shaman. I hope you find what you are looking for!
