This is great, but many Unitarian sermons too often take the theme "what is a Unitarian" . To help people understand, more sermons on all subjects from a "Unitarian" perspective are required. Und so weiter und sofort.

Got to love the more conservative or traditional christians losing it in the comments. If anyone is unitarian good on them. Whether anyone believes in traditional christianity that's fine too. There is no singular path, no singular truth. You believe what you want to as long as you don't impose it on others.

That's fine Kareem. There are many differences. Source of authority is the biggest. So on Wikipedia we read regarding JWs "The organization makes no provision for members to criticize or contribute to official teachings[173] and all Witnesses must abide by its doctrines and organizational requirements." The Unitarian movement is a non-doctrinal faith. There is no requirement to assent to a creed. Among British Unitarians there is an Object statement, but this is not binding on individuals. www.unitarian.org.uk/pages/our-object-and-constitution . Today Unitarianism in Britain constitutes a pluralist community.

2:04 The Bible teaches the opposite. It's not about good works, it's by accepting Jesus Christ as your savior. You guys are well off track
@judithknights-rayson92844 жыл бұрын
It is commendable to want to live a good life and love and serve others. But, is that sufficient? What about when we die? The Bible says "It is given for (ALL) men to die once and then face judgement". If final judgement is a reality, would it not be wise to take out some form of insurance policy against that judgement? Hebrews 9:27 says, "Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgement", 28, "so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people, and he will appear a second time, not to bear sins but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him". A school career without final exam accreditation leaves an inconclusive ending to one's school life. So too, an earthly life without a satisfactory conclusion and desire for a better future life, sets the standard for eternity too low. But, what if the standard for the next life is so superior, it is impossible to reach by human standards? That is what the Bible teaches. And that is also what the Bible provides answers for. 1 Peter 2:24 says, "He (Jesus) himself took ALL our sins IN his body, on the cross, that we might die to sin and live for righteousness --- and by his wounds we are healed". Acts 4:12 says, "SALVATION is found in no-one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be SAVED". Good works do not save us. RIGHTEOUSNESS, ie BELIEVING God's word, and RESPONDING to it GOD'S WAY, brings us to SALVATION, which is the first step towards ETERNAL LIFE. John 3:16 and John 17:3. What was God's original standard for mankind? Genesis 1:26 ---For us to be a holy people, carrying God's own image and likeness within us. This was made possible when God blew into Adam's nostrils the Breath of Life (Holy Spirit) AFTER he had formed the man from the dust of the earth. The indwelling Holy Spirit allowed Adam and Eve to experience God's presence and to understand God's thoughts. When creating Adam, his body was formed first from the dust of the earth and THEN the Breath of Life {Holy Spirit) was breathed into his nostrils. "And so the man became a LIVING soul" ie, a soul in which God's life dwelt. But the Holy Spirit's presence left Adam and Eve when they ate the forbidden fruit, causing them to become "sinners" separated from God. We can only pass to our children what we genetically carry ourselves. So all humanity has inherited the "sin nature" from Adam. But, we receive the Holy Spirit again at salvation when he becomes our teacher, guide, advocate, advisor, our comforter and a friend who sticks closer than a brother. He is the one who leads us into all truth. The Bible says God has "set eternity in the hearts of man" Ecclesiastes 3:11(b) Many of us have hearts that recognize the call and attempt to live "good lives" by human standards because no-one has explained its ETERNAL SIGNIFICANCE of the call. But God created us for himself, to carry his Holy Spirit, his own ETERNAL LIFE within us, and to have the privilege of knowing him personally John 17:3, to learn to recognize his presence and to understand his thoughts. "And this is ETERNAL LIFE that they may KNOW You, the Only True God and Jesus Christ Whom you have sent".

I'm a Unitarian, and this is not what it means at all. You are using the term wrong.
@MikeRosoftJH Жыл бұрын
What they're explaining is an equivalent of the American 'Unitarian-Universalist' church, rather than Christian Unitarianism (disbelief in the doctrine of Trinity). In the latter sense, e.g. Jehovah's Witnesses are Unitarian, and these are hardly an example of progressive values.

They don't talk about God. It's not a Christian denomination. CULT??? Please don't project misleading image that it is a part of Christianity. Because it is not. The Christian God is missing with them. They don't believe in the trinity. God, Son, and the Holy Spirit. What matters most is I've never met an Unitarian who really helps the needy. THe Unitarians talk a lot, and little action.

@@mattspintosmith5285 I know you'll LOVE this Unitarian cancer rather than true Christianity, instead you'll hate hate hate true Christianity, do you know why ? Because we don't "condemn" but warn people out of love and concern about their eternity, but people dont see this love, for them love is "do as thou wilt" and anyone who supports that moto is "loving" according to people like you, if this is the way you roll, you are destined to be in hell for eternity, again, I'm not "condemning" you but telling you the truth so that you may get saved and dont have the misfortune of that kind of eternity, I know you'll not like what I said, because love to you is different, you're like a child who wants to play with broken glasses, those who tell you "go on, it's your life your will, play with it, we support and love you" are "loving" in your eyes but if I tell you "no dont play with it, it will hurt and cut you really bad" then I'm hateful and condemning according to you.
@mattspintosmith52854 жыл бұрын
David, I will let people read your words and judge for themselves whether these are words of love and concern, or of self-righteous condemnation of others. You're right. People increasingly "don't see this love" - because it too often manifests as a power game bearing no resemblance to any notion of love as they could reasonably understand it. And Unitarians believe in reason. Meanwhile, I am comfortable in my relationship with the Christian tradition as I interpret it according to the conscience God gave me. A hell based doctrine has no true concept of human worth and thus opens the door to all manner of abuse and cruelty in defence of self-appointed hierarchies (I am not condemning other churches here because I believe there are millions of great people in other churches who do their best to emphasise the most loving aspect of their doctrines).
@davidsarkar66684 жыл бұрын
@@mattspintosmith5285 Sure, go on, let people read my comment and decide for themselves who are not bias towards their own denomination but are focused in God's Words aka The Bible alone, As for I'm righteous, does my words made you feel that way ? Then you have a problem with understanding what a man means, let alone The Bible, For me, the Truth is more loving than the mere words and actions of human because as it's written in the Bible that no matter how and what good we do all are nothing but filthy rags infront of God's eyes 🙃 And wow, you guys have a really thick problem, for you your denomination and biasness towards it is more important and worthy rather than the Truth the Words of God, I used to be a Catholic, but Jesus showed me the truth through His own Words aka The Bible so I left Catholicism, The Truth of Jesus is love, the Words of The Bible the true advice of God is love, I never had any blind biasness towards Catholicism, I never labelled people with "self righteous" or "hatefull" labels like you did to me, instead I acknowledged and agreed with the truth they had to say, love and truth goes hand in hand my friend coz remember, the Antichrist will come to deceive the entire world in the name of love, the love that you all see and understand but not the love that Jesus talks about Proverbs 27:5-6 5 Better is open rebuke than hidden love. 6 Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses.
