CONFIGURATION ITEM (CI)- A configuration item is an infrastructure element, service component or any other item that needs to be managed in order to ensure the successful delivery of service. For e.g. hardware components, software components etc.
Each CI has several characteristics like classification, attributes, relationships, an owner and a status value.
AFFECTED CI’s - The CI’s where some changes has to be done.
IMPACTED CI’s - The CI’s which is directly/indirectly or partially affected by the CI whom it dependent in any way.
