Namo Buddhaya and Namo Amitabhaya.... I guess Shravakas (Arihants) are more on a single minded focus on Nirvana (enlightenment) ... Nirvana of Shravaka does not go into grades of Karuna, and does not go into the Prajna regarding the Shunya-bodha. And hence on micro-detailing one may find that such Nirvana not be a complete Nirvana.. But on a broader outlook, an Arahant's Nirvana is focused on the Noble Truths and not on the Middle-Way.. Hence it only liberates a Shravaka from the Saha world. A Bodhisattava path is entirely different with prime focus on the Prajna of Shunyata Bodha with practice of all grades of Karuna.... Hence it's not really an equitable and meaningful comparison between the Arahant's Nirvana and a Bodhisattava's Nirvana as their methodology, object and micro-detailing are entirely different....

🙏 AraHant means one who subdue the Mara within is AraHant. Becoming Arahant is getting enlightenment but not Nibanna. Break the cycle of death & birth is Nirvan. ❤️🙏🕊🔔🌏🙏🧎‍♂️🙇

Hi, i reckon Arahat is the most basic level and thank you for recognising that. But do we skip elementary level and go straight to high school? Or can we bypass the infant stage and go straight to become an adult? Does the plant grow without first seeding process? Buddha first attained Arahat stage before processing. Seek your advise. Thank you. When we first enter into Buddhism, is it not because we recognise that is Karma, cause and effect and seek to understand why is it so? After we had enter into Dharma learning world, we seek the four noble truth. Base on Buddha's words, he said that all things in the world is subjected to decay, include desire. Arahat is like a an infant (in layman term), or the foundation stage upon entering university. Then One goes into different specialisation and Maha Sakyamuni enter Buddhahood. In Mahayana tradition, we recognise Gods and Heaven too. So, if we keep thinking or trying to help the people, and got addicted to it. Is it a desire and an attachment. Buddha words "to rid of all attachments", it mean get rid of material, feelings and mental stages causing pain and all those subjected to decay. These are eventually negative because it will be gone and It is suffering. Learning Dharma is an attachment because of desire to learn. Buddha did not said getting rid of positive attachment that does not subject to decay. Anyone (Buddhist/Non-Buddhist) can also become an arahat as long as they realise, live the life of Arahathood without sub-consciously recognise it as Arahathood, is an Arahat. Human doing heroic acts, saving the world, kind deeds but with feeling and mental subjected to decay may become a God or bodhisattva if we do not first attained Arahathood? So, with the above statements, may I know in our level as a human, is achieving Arahat first what we are looking for or go into learning how to become a Bodhisattva, hoping that in our next life, we can continue to learn and become Bodhisattva? Also, are there any caste system in Buddhism? Doctors has their function but hygiene workers have important role first. Dharma teaches us to remove view of levelling. So Arahat has its own function, Bodhisattva has its own and so doing others. We do not speak of things we are unsure till we experience it. Many people acquired the knowledge and able to speak of it. But the wisdom to speak of the sacred knowledge is equally important.

Amituofo, depending on the practitioners' roots and karma. One can go straight into the Bodhisattva path without realising arahant first. If one generates the bodhicitta, then one is on the bodhisattva path, when one realises enlightenment, one will be from the first level of faith and onwards (see my video on 52 stages of Enlightenment for Bodhisattva path, 1st stage of faith is equivalent to Sotapanna). If one attains rebirth to the Pure Land, one can go from an ordinary being to a highly enlightened bodhisattva (bodhisattva to the stage of non-regression e.g. much higher level than arahant), this is due to Amitabha Buddha's vow. Also a bodhisattva helps sentient beings without abiding in anything (see Diamond Sutra), so there is no attachment (no attachment to the concept of the sentient beings, no attachment to help sentient beings), one simply performing the actions without abiding in anything. At the beginning one needs to have the earnest desire for Dharma and awakening, and once one attains it one can let go too (but it's too early for most people to say to let go of the Dharma yet), as one still needs to use it as a boat to cross the sea of suffering so to speak. When one is at the level of the Buddha, one completely let go. Amituofo.

If it is skillful means, then why do unenlightened Mahayana buddhist, say Arahant is selfish attaining Nibbana for themselves, when that's what the Buddha taught them? The Buddha did NOT say "hello, you have two options, Arahant, or Bodhisatta, which do you choose?" no, he taught Arahant path as skillful means, in which case who are we to deny the Buddha's skillful means? Why do we judge and say Arahant path is wrong? It's the path the Buddha taught them. They followed the Buddha. How can they be called selfish, when the Buddha taught them to be selfish. The Buddha didn't teach them the bodhisattva path until later. Arahant is a great opportunity, since they will be Bodhisattva's anyways, they can end suffering here and now. The lotus sutra says Arahant is great, the buddha says in lotus sutra he taught to become Arahant so people can rest, and then continue on. So we should all work to become Arahant right now, and then work to Bodhisatta path since we can attain Arahant right now this life end our suffering this life, just like lotus sutra says the Buddha made it as apparitional city tk end suffering to make it easier to continue to the Buddhahood path.

I don't understand because the Buddha is the one who TOLD THEM to enter Nirvana.. So it's confusing me. Why did Buddha tell the Arahants to enter paranibbana? There is a few situations in the Pali cannon the Buddha is proud of arahants having entered paranibbana. What possible skillful means could that be. It doesnt make sense, and it's certaintly not fair at all to say "Arahants" take the selfish path and dwell in Nirvana becsuss BUDDHA TOLD THEM TOO. So, I really don't get it.

It's very deceptive the Buddha says "Arahants are the HOLE" but it's the Buddha who taught them this... How fair is that? It is almost evil. Why would Buddha say that about Arahants, when he is the one who taught them to become Arahants.
