Love this you did great, I would recommend just as friendly feedback to equalize the music a little lower so the spoken words don’t get drowned out. Keep it up tho!

I completely agree. This was made over 9 years ago and I’ve learned a bit more about balancing audio since posting this to youtube. Unfortunately I’m not familiar with a way to swap out the video without it affecting the past views and any links people are using for this version.

Architecture is the professional practice of transforming dreams into reality. Creating balance between what is desired with what is possible. Juggling the needs of many different forces (social, economical, political, physical, environmental, and structural) into a finished structure that hopefully also engages our desire to experience joy every day. It’s one of the most rewarding because every completed project is a little legacy of your life. A child placed on this earth that one can only hope to watch grow and evolve to be a beautiful part of many other’s lives.

I love it too. Yesterday I was watching Nicola Tesla Video the importance of the number 369 that made me fall in love with math and physical science. Pre I told myself im going to go for property studies because I have a passion of creating things that I can see bringing fulfillment when it’s complete more over I’m being awaked. Seeing this video it intensifies something with more meaning with my soul. Thank you

It's all warm feelings until someone walks into your building and says, this looks like crap. Then you start to question your "profession"

Opinions are like fingers. Most people have at least one. They are entitled to them. Dreams of what may be, are often cut short by our waking reality. Even so, dreams are what push humanity further every day. Never let the opinions of others stop you from building a better tomorrow.

If I'm going to architecture university, do I need to learn architecture from now? Or they will teach from the beginning?
@RyanSiemers
@RyanSiemers 3 жыл бұрын
Good question. It depends on the school you want to go to I suppose. Mostly the answer would be no. But you should pursue your passions by learning more about them before committing to a degree, since it is a big investment of time and money. When there isn’t a stupid global pandemic going on, there are usually youth programs and camps about architecture. They are great introductions to architectural thinking. You might be able to Google a program nearby. Also many architecture firms can use an extra set of hands for light tasks. When I was learning CAD in high school I worked as an intern at a great little architecture firm for a summer before college. Those types of experiences can help tell you if a career in architecture fits you. Regarding logistics: From what I remember, having a solid secondary school (high school in the US) performance would get you in the door of most liberal arts universities, if they have an architecture program. There are some schools that also offer more of a trade school approach which can be a stepping stone toward a career in architecture but I felt that I personally would benefit from learning more broadly, and then focus later. Not everyone has that luxury though. If you find any youth programs though, that can help lead you to mentors, or others who can provide more insight.

+Ryan Siemers hello thank you for your reply ! Yes, I still want to study architecture. these days I am trying to make a portfolio because i learned that a lot of universities want one. two years now i am having architectural design lessons ( like house plans , church plans, floor plans ,etc). what i like from architecture is the idea that someone can build\ make something from zero that can be helpful for many people or can be a piece of art. i am interested in interior and exterior design , i also like urban and religious architecture. moreover i am fascinated in making tiny/compacted houses ,tree houses or container houses (that i have seen them on TV and on youtube, and i like the whole process. because i like how they must be organized and be in a way that wont waste space). those houses excite my imagination and i want to create in a small space. i will also like to mix architecture with psychology that i like too . thank you for your time and for your answer . the site you told me is really useful ! i will start searching for more as you told me!! thank you very much for your help!

Hello🙏 i like how people design and work as an architect. I'm pursuing Business studies, and I did a mistake not choosing architecture. Is there any way I can make use of my interest in this field? Pls help..
@RyanSiemers
@RyanSiemers 3 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the slow reply. I don’t always get notifications about new comments. Hopefully this will still be helpful. There are a lot of paths that can lead to a career in Architecture. Every skill you develop can inform the process. Business for instance can teach you about resource management which can train your brain to problem solve real world problems. Architecture firms also need people with a good business acumen to actually manage finances, employees, overhead, finding new clients, etc. So you should think about what role you’d like to play. Is it design? Evaluating the needs of a client and designing physical responses? Production (helping problem solve the Solutions from design) Client development (building relationships and recruiting clients to your firm) Marketing and Administration (helping your firm run daily operations and go after new projects) There are a lot of roles available, and your experience in business may help in ways you didn’t expect. But, if you aren’t happy with your educational path, switch. At my university, liberal arts degrees are designed to cover a broad array of basic knowledge development to many degrees in the first couple years. I switched pretty easily from one degree type to another two times. I even added a degree when I realized I could add one year to turn a minor into a major. At the heart of it though, if you aren’t happy with your path now, talk to your education advisor about how to switch.
