Brock, the Gym Leader of the Pewter City Gym in Kanto, is stronger than we thought. It's time to look at Gym Leader Brock's evolution in the Pokémon games and figure out his strongest & best team by looking at all Brock's Pokemon in the main series games. This video covers Brock's Pokemon timeline and the best team for Brock. Brock appears in the Pokemon anime and has many best moments and you can have have a Brock Pokemon battle several times where he gets stronger in secret rematches the games too from Gen 1 - Gen 8. It's time to find out the answer to the question... what is Brock's best possible team?
Brock's Appearances in Pokemon:
- Brock Pokemon Red and Blue
- Brock Pokemon Yellow
- Brock Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen
- Brock Pokemon Gold and Silver
- Brock Pokemon Crystal
- Brock Pokemon Black 2 White 2
- Brock Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee (with Brock rematch)
- Brock Pokemon Masters
- Brock Sun and Moon Anime
Leading into Pokémon Sword & Shield and Pokemon Masters, it's important to know how strong the trainers we've seen in the series are. We're going to take a look at Gym Leaders, Rivals, Elite 4 Members, Champions, etc. and figure out their TRUE POWER.

CHECK OUT MISTY'S TRUE POWER EPISODE HERE! 😄 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hrGPZ7VoubGZhKc.html Note: Keep in mind that this series is based on the main series video games. Yes, Brock has a Steelix in the anime, but we have no idea what level it is and the anime exists in an entirely different universe than the main series (where he has not yet evolved his Onix). Welcome to the first episode of the True Power series! Make sure to leave a comment voting for what GEN 1, 2, 3, or 4 trainer you want in the NEXT episode; whoever's comment gets the most likes will get their trainer choice & will be featured in the video!

@SilphSpectre I know that you are mainly using the mainline games as reference but virtually all Gym Leaders and Elite Four (bar a few) pre-Gen III also have teams in Pokemon Stadium 1 & 2. It'd be cool to take those teams into consideration as well to see if any of those Pokemon would make for a more viable addition to their teams especially since many Gym Leaders in the Stadium 1 & 2 Gym Castles also had Pokemon outside of the typing they represent.

My personal headcanon is that the levels pokemon evolve at are dependent on the trainer. Youngsters and bug catchers commonly have high level unevolved pokemon because they're mediocre trainers. We have ours evolve quickly because the player character is a skilled trainer, and Lance's dragonite evolve faster than ours because he's a dragon master, and thus better than the Player at training them.

To everybody saying he should have Onix as it's his signature Pokémon, this list isn't his most likely team. It's his best team. Onix simply isn't good enough to make the cut. The list is simply his strongest team. And as far as others saying Steelix should have, this only uses data from the games, and he hasn't had one yet.

I'd argue Evolite Onix is better than Rampardos since Rampardos has abysmal defenses and speed. Onix has an okay 70 base speed and a ridiculous base 160 defense. Add Eviolite to that and his defenses more than make up for his abysmal HP. But sp attacks will still shred him, but special attacks would shred Rampardos as well. It's close enough you could argue Eviolite Onix over Rampardos but not really anything else on the team.

@@JeremyCuddles The problem with Onix is what is it going to do once it's on the field? Onix's stats are hilariously bad aside from Defense and an okay Speed, so sure it can take some hits, but it's not going to be doing anything worthwhile in return. Rampardos, while not very bulky, has immediate threat level with its sky high attack and moves like Head Smash that will decimate anything that doesn't resist it

Liennar Naikh In the original show, he had multiple typed Pokémon. Why in the fuck did you even mention Sun and Moon...? The OG series is more than enough. My argument shows the game version of Brock, who is fully in with his gym, which is one type since he only had rocks in the games. Misty is the only gym leader in the anime that only uses her type even while out on a journey. :/

While it's not obvious: Charmander actually has a decent fight against Brock in Gen 1 thanks to a few factors. As a Special move, Ember (even if it is NVE) gets around Brock's high Defense to hit his weak Special stat. Add to this, neither Geodude not Onix actually know a Rock (or Ground for that matter) type move so Charmander's fire weakness isn't a big deal. Naturally both Squirtle and Bulbasaur have an even easier time but Brock isn't all that tough no matter what red/blue starter you've got.

Gamefreak should really increase Onix's stats. It would be cool if they went the Scyther-Scizor route, since it also evolves with the metal plate. In that evolution, Scyther has the same base stat total as Scizor, with the main changes being typing, available moves, and by funneling a good chunk of its speed stat into defense and attack. Onix should work the same way. Match Onix's stats with Steelix, then funnel 20 attack and 40 defense into speed.

Misty would be awesome to see! I do have a couple of personal gripes with the team, for example if I had to chose Brock's Ultimate team I would make it Steelix (Mega Stone) Golem Tyranitar (Mega Stone) Omastar Kabutops and Aerodactyl (Mega Stone) My team goes for more a of thematic approach. His Steelix and Golem he has had since day 1 and it would be weird to see his team without them. I also thought it would make sense for him to eventually evolve his Onix. Tyranitar would make sense because it wouldn't be far off to assume he traveled to Johto and found a Larvitar. Then the 3 fossils makes sense because he is in the town where you restore them. This is what I personally would of done but I understand the approach you went for and all in all it is a very well made video. I'm excited to see more!

AND, he's got two on that team capable of Mega Evolution in T-Tar and Aerodactyl. Though Onix/ Steelix IS his signature Pokemon so I'd chuck the Rampardos for it, imo. In the Sun/ Moon anime, he use's Steelix to Mega Evolve so I'd at least give him that even if it isn't in the games.

For one he doesnt have a rampardos in gold an silver dumbass but yet in the gold an silver games on the ds he does which he shouldnt bc ds games are just reboots of the gameboy games with just better graphics just like omega red an omega sapphire whats the difference there than their original lets see oh you can get a primal groudon primal kyorge an no its not mega evolution they dont have one its just a power the reverts them to their primal forms now rayquaza has a mega evolution he doesnt have a primal form ahaha

True, mega steelix would actually be a good addition to his team since t-tar provides sandstorm that activates mega steelix's sand force and aerodactyl could possibly tailwind to make him faster although it wouldn't be a big deal cause he would still be outsped by most things... still better than a rampardos though, especially when most of his team already has a weakness/double weakness to grass

I haven't looked at this comment since I posted lol. The first guy that replied needs to chill lmao. Idk why he's calling me dumb xD. And yeah, the synergy is there, Steelix would give him options that regular Rocks wouldn't. Not many but at least Steelix gets some decent coverage options. Idk. When considering a character's "ultimate" team, I feel like you should aim for using their signature Pokemon alongside any Pokemon with a type they specialize in not just ones they've owned as far as we know.

I'm not sure if it's in other games, but Brock's softer side was also mentioned directly by one of the books in part of the museum blocked by cut tree. It says that even thought he's usualy stoic, when he starts laughing he cannot stop it easly or something like that.

Slight error about the Ryhorn - if it learns megahorn at 57, then it can still evolve after the battle is over after the move is learnt. So it's 57+, not 58+. Great vid, though!

I actually agree with your picks for the team. However, I wish to give exact levels to some and reasoning behind them just because I can. Tyranitar Level 63+ (His Tyranitar knows Stone Edge, which yes can be taught via TM but it can also be learned at 63 for Ttar. While we don't exactly know if it was TM taught or not, I upped the possible level from 55+) Rhyperior Level 68+ (You were actually off about when Rhyhorn learns Mega Horn by 10 levels) Aerodactyl Level 66 (I just figured it should be up in the same range as the others. Same goes for the rest.) Omastar Level 66 Kabutops Level 66 Rampardos Level 67 I do just want to say I enjoy the vid and gave it a like. Keep up the great work.
