The Chinese very proud political system that they develop are very competent and highly meritocracy. Your promotion is based on performance and merit, and everybody must start from the bottom and work your way up to the top, and there is no way around this or trying to do a short cut. Even though if you are coming from princeling family or if you are well connected with the high ranking Chinese government official, you still have to start from the bottom and take examination and evaluation by your peers before you can get promoted to the next level. That’s why this Chinese political system is very proud and unique. Because of this system the Chinese develop, they can produce very high caliber leaders and competent leaders to run the country. Unlike the western model political system, it’s all about hook up and princeling and privilege people and identity politics to get in office. So, on my book I like the Chinese political system more because it does produce good leaders

That's not true as, in the U.S., a change in parties always comes with a change in policies - in fact, that happens regularly, at the National, State, County and City level, as has been seen recently.

That's not the only choice that exists! Goodness me. Isn't something like the system in New Zealand better? Where you can choose parties in proportion and get a mix of policies I don't understand how a single party (or you) can think it is good for everyone to have only one party installed in power and no prospect of any alternative EVER. What happens when everyone gets sick and tired of those people in power, or they make one wrong move too many? They can have a spell in opposition and renew themselves. All parties benefit from a spell in opposition. That would includes the Chinese Communist Party. Transitions of power from one government to another (whatever or whenever) are *inevitable.* What you want is for this transition to occur *as part of a celebration of democracy* as you get in democracies like New Zealand. Not with fear and bloodshed which is guaranteed in places like China.

Because the majority know what they want but not how or whether it is a good idea in the first place. That is why a majority democracy does not work. Most people do know nothing about the economy, civil engineering or even the military. But our nation is built on that. And that is why only those who actually have experience in building anything also can be the only ones leading us.

In our system ppl focus on the president and forget to care about local elections and there is little local participation whatsoever. lol. Democracy means elections and transparency. China's leader is not subject to removal, and none of the parties except the CCP have any power. They make a show of "electing" representatives - in fact, thousands of them in order to wash out any effectiveness or power any one of them might have - but the representatives have no vote in anything except what the CCP tells them. Loyalty is above all else, and you are not permitted to go against the CCP (who is lead by Xi).

It's a direct election (though we have that stupid electoral college thrown in there just to screw things up). Unlike an "appointment" to lead the Country. Because a Hong Kong native killed his girlfriend in Taiwan, and then escaped back into Hong Kong to avoid capture. And because Hong Kong does not have an extradition treaty with any other country, including the mainland, no one can arrest the murderer. The Hong Kong government wanted to pass the extradition law, but a lot of Hong Kongers who grew up under British rule has been taught that China's system is inferior to western style government, even though Hong Kong itself treat their residents like trash, putting people into cage apartments all because the government is making too much money leasing the land in Hong Kong to the highest bidder instead of creating affordable places to live. Agree with this. I like the indirect election of the national representatives but it got overshadowed by the concentration of power into a single leader, namely the General Secretary. It would be much better if the National Party Congress would do away with the Standing Committee of the Politburo, and let the Chairman of the Politburo be a separate post and the head of the Party instead of the General Secretary.

This depends on the position, and some officials are directly elected. But most officials adopt an examination system. Then, by accumulating experience and achievements, one can be promoted. The core officials at the highest level are usually determined in advance by political leaders in the preparatory meeting - Beidaihe Meeting, and then nominated by the President, and then submit to the National People's Congress for voting. The promotion of intermediate officials depends on their achievements and experience, but they also need to be voted by their colleagues. Each level has its own meeting and voting system.
