In this video I explain, what is a Classical Christian Education Homeschool. As a homeschooling mom and former Classical educator, I have built a homeschool that teaches my children classically from a Christian perspective.
Ever wonder what made our founding Fathers so eloquent? Or why people like JR Tolkien and JK Rowling are such impressive writers? Well it turns out that they were all educated the same way, with a Classical Christian education.

As a classical Christian school student, one of the coolest things I’ve seen is the students enjoying learning; laughing together while learning, using what we’ve learned to argue and in normal life, and students excelling in studies and every day life! When I was younger I never really realized how blessed I was the have an amazing education, and I didn’t really like school. As I’m getting into the older grades, I’m realizing my love for learning how to properly form an argument and see if it makes sense! It’s so cool to see myself and others change in my experience at a classical school!

Been researching this and only so far found lofty philosophical descriptions of the benefits of Classical Education, and then I arrived here where I finally received a detailed overview I was looking for!

We are definitely very Eclectic. But from what I have researched, Classical Conversations is Neo Classical. Memoria Press is Classical.

Teacher Noelle, what are your thoughts on middle schoolers or 12 and 14 year old that were public schooled but are now homeschool. Would they be too behind or late for starting classical ? If not would what would be your suggestions on getting them started ?

Sorry about the delay! I never saw these comments. I would say they are never too late to start using the Classical method. They may be a steep learning curve since it is a different way of learning. Hope that helps!

How do I self study the Logic, argument making and Rhetoric tools/techniques/processes developed over the centuries? Not all manuals and resources are created equal...so what is the gold standard in your opinion?

What a great question! I have only taught at the grammar level so far so I don’t have the experience to answer your question, but based on the content in the grammar stage, I have been very happy with Veritas Press and Classical Conversations. All the best in your pursuit of life long learning!

I’m new to this and starting a small school group in our church, I’m very drawn and interested in a mix of classical and Charlotte mason style. Could you give me some ideas on a biblical curriculum for age groups of elementary and middle school please? I’m really overwhelmed with everything out there! Thank you

Beautiful!! I would recommend Classical Conversations and Veritas Press. I’ve also heard great things of Sonlight curriculum. We love Classical Conversations bc we do a co-op along with it.

We have always used a Charlotte Mason style approach to homeschooling but as our oldest just turned 10, I’m looking at classical education as well. We did a trial community day at a local Classical Conversations school last week and I found the Essentials class to be overwhelming for myself and my son (I was an English Lit major in college). Both of my children liked Foundations (we also have a 7 year old). Another concern I have are all of the KZfaq videos knocking CC for not being more God centered. The timelines don’t even talk about Jesus and I heard a huge focus is on Greek Gods and mythology. I know people either love or hate CC, but I just want to talk to someone who can tell me what they like and don’t like about it. One extra detail- we do a full day homeschool tutorial twice per week (with only Math for take home curriculum). We would really have only two full days to work on our CC. Am I biting off more than I can chew? I’m so torn. Sorry for the long rant!

Sorry for the delay!! We use Classical Conversations for most subjects except for Math and Reading. For Math we use Math U See and for reading we use Spell to Write and Read and All About Spelling. Hope that helps!!

Why is public speaking important?
@teachernoelle9912
@teachernoelle9912 Жыл бұрын
Great question! Public speaking is an important skill that students will need in the future for so many fields and industries. It’s a dying art and so important in building leadership skills. Public speaking also requires regular practice and when you start in the early years before social pressures begin in the child’s development, it just feels like more natural to them to go up in front of others and speak. I’ve been blown away in seeing the public speaking growth in my children through their weekly presentations.
