I came to Fusion via Stop Motion, so this video addresses (at a basic level) more of what my Fusion comps will look like from the start. Your concept here is the heart, soul and history of film, mixed with digital mattes for an even better result. I'm reasonably sure you could "just do it in Fusion", but I'd prefer this method any day. 99% of the stopmo educational content on this platform focus on AE, so i appreciate your efforts here.

You know, now that you have so much terrain assembled, it's time to invest in a 6 mm wargame. Dropzone Commander, Horizon Wars, Full Spectrum Dominance… Honestly, for a lot of folks, half the fun of playing a tabletop wargame is getting to paint the miniatures and build the terrain.

That was cool.... You could do a follow up video and show how the nodes would be used or a node tree of that video. TV(background node), nodes for color corrector on the lighting , mask for the lighting like you mentioned, godzilla as one of the foreground nodes, etc...

Casey, I come from a tv background where everything is 30ffs or 60ffs… but I noticed you use 24ffs on a lot of your settings. Is that standard? Good job on the tutorials.

What drives me crazy in DaVinci is the rendering process. When I want to render clips with straight alpha, I can only do this as individual clips (and who the hell needs premultiplied!?). So, it's impossible to cut something that comes from the green screen and then output it as a single clip with a straight alpha channel. But it gets even better! When I output individual clips, DaVinci only renders with the audio track of the original clip, even if I delete all other audio clips in the timeline and link my desired clip. WHY???!!!???

Great as always. After coming from After Effects, I got into Fusion node structure and am pretty good at it. However, there are a few things I still don't get. For instance, one of them... in AE you can set the layers duration as you please. In Fusion I have no idea how to set node duration in composition. Or in AE you can move layers up and down in timeline. In Fusion I have no clue how to do that if you set the node order wrong. 🙃
@rano12321

The keyframe tab exists in Fusion for that reason. And in order to move layers up and down, change order or merges.
@Belamarimages
@Belamarimages 4 ай бұрын
@@rano12321 thanks Dude! that is what I was looking for! Keyframes tab! That is solved! However, changing order of merges is what I know but I was thinking there might be something faster (like moving layers up or down in AE). Well, maybe they will think of something new in future updates! Thanks once again!

@@ClaytonsWoodArt not sure what do you mean. I know how to move clips up or down or wherever on EDIT page (I have my custom shortcut for that). I was asking about FUSION page. BTW, I changed my "zoom in & out in timeline" to up and down arrows. 😉

Comping in Fusion also means, that you will find a way, to organize your node tree in a comfortable and practical way, to reorganise nodes if needed. AE maybe is faster in pushing a layer up, but imagine reorganising precomps. That could be a pain in AE. In Fusion you can move visually in your organized node tree and push things around faster in the end. Hope that makes sense. An interesting node could be the multimerge node. There you can pipe in an endless amounts of layers and arrange them in the inspector. The multimerge needs a Background like the source footage or just a transparent Background. Setting the duration of layers can be done in different ways. Key frame editor, blending the Foreground in and out in the Merge node by keyframing the blend slider. The time stretcher node can also be used for speed ramping, or pushing things back and forth. Just set a keyframe on the first frame and type in the frame number (like 0), go to the last frame of the clip f.e., set a keyframe and type in the corresponding frame number (like 115 f.e). Now you can move both keyframes (keyframe editor) to change the timing or bring the last keyframe towards the first keyframe in the spline editor to create speed ramps f.e.

A bit off topic but Ive been looking a lot online about this, snd havent gotten sider. So Im trying my luck here. Im looking to buy a MacBook Pro 16” M3 Max with 128GB unified memory and 40 core gpu. I’m working a lot with editing in davinci resolve, 4k files (with proxies) and I am going in and out of fusion a lot to do vfx, mografs. I’m wondering if the M3 Max fully spec’d out will be able to handle this work with smooth/goo playback or good performance in other words. Anyone in the comments who have experience or is nerdy enough to give an estimate of how well it will perform? Reason I’m not going for a desktop windows is because of portability + some exclusive apple/ios features. Thank you, Bless to this community🙏

HELP me with this please. I need help creating a specific text animation in DaVinci Resolve. I want to display chapter titles on my video with a progress bar that counts down to the start of the next chapter. Here’s how it should work: As the video plays, a fixed text label for the current chapter (e.g., “INTRO”) is displayed on the screen with a progress bar alongside it. This progress bar serves as a countdown timer, visually depleting as the chapter progresses. Once the countdown reaches zero, the text for the current chapter disappears. Immediately after, the title for the next chapter appears in the same place with a new progress bar starting its countdown. This sequence continues until the end of the video, marking transitions between chapters. I’m not referring to the chapters on the Delivery Page but rather on-screen titles that act as live chapters within the video itself. I aim to create a preset for this text countdown so I can easily set it up whenever a new topic starts in my videos. If anyone knows how to achieve this or can point me to a tutorial, I would greatly appreciate it!

I'm not so sure about composting with Godzilla. Godzilla is made of meat and as I understand it, you are not supposed to put meat in your compost heap.

I usually like your content but this video is sort of trolling. It has almost nothing to do with compositing but has everything to do with setting up a toy scene. Stop giving your videos clickbait titles if you don't want to ruin your following.
