Thank you, Rinpoche, for this clarification. We recently had a conversation that was a little like the story of Atisha Dipankara. I now realise that Dharma Practice is actually a 24-hour activity, living life with awareness, and not just in sitting meditation, study, prayers, reciting mantras etc. I am also becoming aware of what a wonderful thing this human life is!

In brief, working on your own feeling, thinking, perception, realising and removing negative emotions and negative reactions in your daily life is the core Dharma Practice. Thank you so much, Master :)))

He has better command of English than most English people. On the point of ''negative'' emotions I tend to disagree. Whilst there are uncomfortable and unpleasant emotions, I do not believe any emotion is negative per se. E-motion is energy in motion and exists for a reason. For example if I witness violence then I may feel angry. Is that negative? No! It's appropriate and the energy of anger may motivate constructive action. So calling anything negative is a judgement, which often leads to supression. I see many religious monks/nuns who are good at giving lectures, but when alone behave unacceptably. This is because they repress their honest emotions, to be good buddhists. But those emotions come out when they think it doesn't matter.
