Guys don't waste time.this is very helpful by I couldn't find the EFI file in my folders FS0 or 1 or 2 so I turn off the laptop and open BIOS . IN The FAR RIGHT under Safe changes has an option EFI BOOT. I DISABLE EFI SHELL and Worked. Try it if you couldnt solve it after this so helpful video.

Thanks, the info should be very useful for me as I try to assemble & set up a barebones mini PC. Most useful were the names of the two reference documents given at the end. The examples you showed should also be useful, if I consider them to be a sort of tutorial.

This was an honest presentation of this subject, funny too. I wanted to lean more about the EFI shell, for example, in linux my root drive has a different partuuid in the EFI shell, than the same root drive has after the system has fully booted up. For boot I need to find out the partuuid is in EFI. Thank you for your EFI video.

Thanks for this video. Every time I tried to use EUFI in Proxmox Hypervisor it would stop at the shell. I had to disable Secure boot!! Your video led me to the answer. Much appreciated!

I use like u in the video the command 'bcfg boot dump -b and bcfg boot mv 02 00 and it doesnt worked.The EFI shell want run this command This is Show in the command line : 'bcfg' is Not recognized as an internal or external Command,operable Programm,or batchfile.what can i do ?? My Windows normaly is C: now it is D: Icant boot Windows i want format my disk because i Need some Stuff in there.I havnt any folder calls loader Inlay one called bootx64.efi but it wannt fix my Problem ..i Hope u can help me

Oh my, this takes me back. I used to use commands like this all the time in windows 3.0. When I was 5 uears old, I was using dos commands just like this... wow the original substructure is the backup... cool.

So far this has been the most useful video I've found, but i don't see any executables. I'm trying to get past the EFI menu, windows won't boot up so this is as far i can get. The MSI BIOS menu doesn't seem to have anything useful for my situation. Been messing about on and off for two years with this thing, my only achievement is getting rid of a black startup screen, so i do got access to the BIOS and the EFI menu, i just don't know what to do from here.

if there is no EFI executables, it's either you don't have a bootloader (accidentally removed) or it's a legacy OS install (MBR). The easiest solution would be to move your important data out and do a fresh OS install.

However by just doing the simple fs0: or fs1: I get fs1: or fs0: is not a valid mapping instead I use fs0: cd / to change dirs

OMG thank you so much, I needed to downgrade a BIOS from a B350m MSI and they provide nothing but a message telling you you can't. IDK why MSI doesn't provide this information so you can recover your mobo instead of losing $$ on working hardware

When I tried this one of the FS partitions was the Windows C: partition. So it will read NTFS.

Nice video. You can edit the startup.nsh too with the edit command so it always starts a chosen bootloader. What's written on your cap?

I usually have to speed up videos because people talk too slow. This is the first time I've had to slow down the video (knock the speed down to 0.75) to clearly hear what's being said. Try it - notice how clear his voice becomes.

My supermico scmf x9 won't boot to bios. It gets stuck with an AB error. I guess because I changed to date and time. I tried to dial the date back in the EFI shell but it won't save it so when I reboot the date is current again. Any thoughts

yes UEFI just like BIOS can be difficult especially with no knowledge, luckily though I do come from Mac OS background which uses practically the same thing, they (Apple) just call it NVRAM/Open Firmware and uses the GPT partition before Microsoft ever did.
