I'm (finally!) back with a new video explaining what is electro swing, a (sub-)genre that combines the influence of vintage (or modern) swing and jazz mixed with house, hip hop, and EDM.

I love swing and jazz (I do lindy hop...) as well as electronic music, but there is something very irritating to me in the combination. ElectroSwing takes the backbeat from Swing which destroys the whole vibe for me.

A while ago, I fell in love with bendy and the ink machine songs, but never knew what genre they were, so when my friend asked me what kind of songs I like, I couldn't reply. This video finally helps me understand!! Thank you soooo much!! I hope I'm right by saying that most "bendy and the ink machine songs" are this genre, it sounds right though :)

Been a few years? My first musical memories are Big Band and Gene Autry debuting Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer on radio, but here I am learning what Electro Swing is, or was, and enjoying it immensely. My favorite catch-up-with-the-young genre so far has been discovering Primus and other alt-rock from the 90s.

Art deco has always been one of my favorite artstyles, but authentic old jazz and swing is often hit or miss due to the changing times and interests between nearly a century of musical and cultural development. It makes me so glad that electro swing kicked off, because done right, it's those dreamy bright lights of new man-made wonders, coupled with just that perfect little modern twist, combined all to make it settle perfectly with the modern generation of music and listeners. Good stuff.

This is super helpful. Clearly showing every instrument used is so good if I wanted to make this myself, and I wish that this was done for more types of music. Because I’m super basic, I’d want one for lofi hip hop but I love this concept either way. Edit: I just realized this was an entire series on your channel and I am now overjoyed.

This is one of the most underrated channels ever. 26k subs and around 10k views per video is way too little for the quatity of the content and the effort that most certainly goes into producing it. I sincerely hope you gain more popularity. Keep 'em coming!

Very good. You make it look so easy, but of course it isn't easy to do well. And interesting too that the 'Famous Artists' you mention almost always 'break' the mould and create original music beyond the formula some of the less succesfull artists follow. Anyway, enjoyed it. Thanks.

I read your comment, without reading your name, and was going to mention that Swingrowers does what you mentioned extremely well...then I read your name and nearly collapsed! Swingrowers, taking the spot from Caravan Palace, is definitely my favourite electric swing band of them all! Others include Caravan Palace, 11 Acorn Lane, Electric Swing Circus, Paul J Borg, Jamie Berry, ProleteR to name a few! I bought Outsidein the night it was released!

Trap is hihat with a compressor and a bass line... + autotune with all the settings messed up. Et voila! It's true. Absolutely. Try yourself, take a sample of someone screaming and make what I said with Ableton/Cubase/FL. And remember to forget about Mastering. We need the worst equalized track ever.

You must be fucking stupid to think this is underrated. It's so fucking overrated. The sound is oversaturated to the point that every song sounds the same. The beats are simple and emotionless. There is zero fucking emotion in this. All music is music but not all music deserves the title. Electro swing is an example of that. Anyone who fucking cares relate this to the swing genre deserves ten bullets in each of their ears.
