How does fuel trim work in EFI and How to read Short Term fuel Trim and Long Term fuel Trim values on OBD scan tool? Fuel trim is explained in easy way with the help of daily life examples. Why do short-term and Long-term fuel trim values keep fluctuating all the time? Understanding of short term fuel trim and long term fuel trim function is demonstrated in detail that how the fuel trims control or maintain the air/fuel Ratio of mixture on a pre-programmed value. Air to Fuel ratio of the mixture is commonly maintained at 14.7:1 in cruise mode and Engine runs on Rich mixture in big torque loads.
If the mixture gets lean the positive short term fuel trim is generated and long term fuel trim is saved in ECM memory.in case of Rich mixture negative short term fuel trim is generated. Reason of High short term fuel trim and Long term fuel trim is discussed as well as of -ve short term fuel trim and long term fuel trim value is explained here. Fuel trim working, difference between short term fuel trim and long term fuel trim is explained in hindi with english caption. Yes mA should be Zero ideally, If - or + mA are there it means air fuel mixture is not at programmed value. for detail you can watch video present at my channel

Yes you are right. Healthy signal from O2 sensor required to get engine in close loop.
