Geofencing is a location-based service that generates instant alerts whenever a vehicle or person enters, exits, or crosses a specific geographical area. Geofencing uses GPS, RFID, Wi-Fi, or cellular data to define a virtual geographical boundary around a real-world geographic area. #Geofencing

Very glad to not have a smartphone. This technology is great when used for wholesome purposes, but terrible when in the wrong hands. And we all know this is in a lot of bad hands.

Use a prepaid smartphone in a fake name & make all your accounts (Google, e-mail, youtube, etc.) In different fake names so that if a computer tracks you it will not know who & if the computer kicks it to be looked at by a human that human will be confused & probably go with the name the service is in... but the truth is it doesn't matter which name they go with, as they are all fake!

So without a phone on you (left in car) you could enter a restricted zone that's geo-fenced in & you wouldn't notice & they wouldn't be alerted... Also if you stole an enemy's phone & put it in a restricted geo-fence & they would take the heat... I'm trying to think of practical uses & how people would abuse the system... Does it work if the phone is in Airplane Mode? In a feroday cage/bag/box?

I just watched a crime show where the police got a subpoena for Google and they simply asked who was near this house at a specific time and a specific date. After going through a list of about 20 people they found a suspect. That got the ball rolling and the dude went to jail for murder. The guy never once used his phone but he had it in his pocket. The neighbors Wi-Fi picked him up. He never hooked up to it, but that was enough.

Then the police utilized Geo fencing and got a subpoena from Google and asked it who was in 100 feet of this house on a specific date during a specific time. Google came back with about 20 different people. They went through all those people and found one person who had a criminal record and did not belong in that neighborhood. That got the ball rolling and the guy went to jail for murder. They would have never solved it otherwise because the guy never used his phone or made a phone call from it. But it was on, and that was all that was needed!
