When they were playing games, I realized that they were kids at that time, but they had already done many things that I couldn't. When I was their age, I just wanted to play games and baseball with the neighborhood kids every day.

The cool thing is that, despite they were already pros (and this was a job), they were having so much fun. To the point they went out of their character several times: Yui admitting not wearing the bracelet on daily basis and having recollection of what happens on stage, Su calling Moa Moa-chan instead of Moametal, etc.

4:13 Babymetal's lore is often actually rooted in something from real life. The girls, especially when they were younger, when moving around as much on stage are like athletes and running on automatic and pushing through. When they've gone deep that can create gaps in their memory. And things about the girls get incorporated into Babymetal lore and stories.

Sometimes, when she plays a trck on someone, she looks directly into their eyes and gives her most innocent expression. Like the time that she told the talk show hostess the eel was kawaii.

I love this video, the two hosts of the show are pretty funny. It's a pity that BABYMETAL don't do things like that anymore. There's a reason for the strange "BABYMETAL death" thing: "Desu" is the Japanese copula "to be". As such it is also used for introductions. So "Moametal desu" means "I am Moa", "BABYMETAL desu" means "We are BABYMETAL". In Tokyo area Japanese the "u" at the end is almost silent, so it sounds like "des". Thus it sounds very similar to the Japanese pronunciation of the word "death". I think what the girls often did at that time was deliberately giving the word "desu" a slight lisp to make it sound even closer to the word "death", while also putting more emphasis on it. So it's just a cute but Metal way to introduce themselves.

This seems like a common type show in Japan. I've seen others. Most don't have subtitles though. They headbang side to side because Yoshiki from X-Japan hurt his neck headbang and had to wear a neckbrace when playing and had a couple of surgeries. X-Japan is Koba-Metals favorite band and the BABYMETAL neckbrace is in homage to them.

euh.. as far as I know only the neckbrace is a reference to Yoshiki, not the side to side headbang.

@@autohmae It's just a best guess and it's not even mine, but I can see it. Koba knew about Yoshiki and a Metallica guy quit because he hurt his neck with the swivel move. So Koba would pick the side to side which limits the range of motion to protect them. No whiplash in that move. Plus the hair looks cooler. The brace is just a guess anyway, right? And the statue (for Metallica)? Never an official confirmation? I've been watching Seikima 2 lately and I've been noticing their influence on Koba. Mostly in the theater aspect. A little Kabuki. It's just art really. You either see it and believe it or you don't.
