I just won a race with the Bugatti in an all Mazda race. It's very hard to keep up with those Mazdas. I was the better driver, but in the straights, i had no chance. Very frustrating.

Same, when gr4 was in deep forest raceway, road Atlanta and now at redbull ring. I finally got my DR A rating. The Mazda so much fun to drive.

@RaceActionNL copy someone set up? No. Then in the future there going to be a Meta setup and everyone going to be using it and the racing will be boring again. Build your set up by trial and error. Or if someone wants give their set up then fine.

If you can ever get the chance, maybe if you see a second hand headset or see it discounted, you really have to try GT7 in PSVR2. It's impossible to describe how much detail there is in every car, it's just jaw dropping the first time you click the VR showroom and inspect the exterior of the skyline silhouette or the cockpit of the AMG GT Black. I love Forza Horizon, and the car models are excellent in that, but the detail in GT7, especially in VR, is just on another level. The badge on the Skyline silhouette, the Nissan badge, has two separate 3D layers placed on top of one another to create the precise, ornate, 3d badge from the real car. Other games just slap a low res texture on the back. There's a manual gear box in one of the cars that has the felt tip writing that some engineer wrote on the casing in the real car, and that's been worn away by time. And the headlights...jesus christ. I go in VR and I feel like a car pervert, staring up close at the headlights, which are these ridiculous 3d sculptures more compilcated than the models for a single car back in, say, GT4. A single screen replay of PSVR(especially uploaded to YT) profoundly does not do it justice, because you have a different image going to each eye in the real thing, so everything is massively heightened: the resolution feels higher, the colours feel richer, you can immediately tell what material every surface in every car is made from because not only do you have the two images for each eye combining but your head is constantly moving in VR, making little adjustments, so the light is shifting in real time in a way that gives you much more information per second. Carbon fiber is instantly visible, the different kinds of car paints are immediately distinguishable; you can see any flecking in the paintjob, etc. You can look at a seat and tell that it's alcantara, or leather, or notched plastic, or whatever, straight away. And that's just the showroom. The connection you have to each car when you can inspect it in such a first person view, and experience it in VR...if they can find a way of making the cockpits fully interactive, so you can roll down the windows, flash the lights, fiddle with the in-car driving modes, turn on air-con, etc. - then they'd have my soul.

Staying out longer on the Mazda will lower your rear tyre temperature, I think this week they are testing and adding on to the temperature transitions. If you stay out for 7 or 8 laps you can see the blue border on the rear tyres.

I've done this race (on controller) a few times now and find with the Mazda (and all FF cars), a few laps in the back end gets decidedly unsticky, and I spend all the left handers sliding wide Cannot figure out why

I miss these old days then you could choose one of your favourites more or less decent cars and race against the same various car lovers. Nowadays there are only monoclass races :(

GT5 was the last that we had decent races, and the last time I raced online properly. I had an advantage over a lot of drivers due to my ability to make supreme tunes for cars. I'd spend hours on nür, fine tuning suspension and tweaking aero to make me quicker with my driving style.

I stopped playing sport mode a year ago because meta races are not that interesting or fun. Each week people only use 1-2 cars... I wish they included another race each week that focuses around pp, horsepower, weight, & tire restrictions while also allowing the use of manual & racing transmissions because I have a ton more fun in custom public lobbies using these restriction settings.

There is one GT7 KZfaqr who realizes that 3rd-person view is much better for viewing. Imagine watching a F1 race on TV that only showed cockpit cams? Nobody would watch it.

Good thing Daily Race B is noy too bad for 5 laps. Im using the Supra and i think its a bit underrated there. Can't get comfy in that Nissan GTR for some reason at Lago Maggiore.

I tried the Lancer Evo and it can work in daily race C but it's still slower on the straights. I've heard the Reno is also a good option. I agree though after driving the meta car it can get boring. The racing itself is fun but actually driving the meta car just gets stale after a bit. Not much of a challenge.

@@kartana cars definitely need adjustments I think the testing is more so aimed at race combo’s - ie. tracks, laps, tuning, tires, fuel and weather Probably being fed into an algorithm which will hopefully inform future Race combinations in future Saying that though, PD could just be throwing darts a board for ideas for all I know lol

They should never full on replace daily races with manual setups. In my opinion manual setups helps you tune the car to a more agile car but that is only useful in a wheel setup and lots of players with controllers will not be able to fully take advantage of that because tweaky cars are difficult for a controller. If they really want to include these manual setup daily races, they should just make one of the daily races a manual setup or at least making it a daily race d. They should stay in their lane and not be too intimidated with iracing and acc. They have their own market and if they wan to move further to sim racing they should start on the physics more than the manual setups and make it a different game.

That's not the reason. You get new tires so that you have new rears that are in better temperature. If you don't change tires then you'll have cold rears for more of the race and suffer from oversteer under braking.

@@Wass_85 i didn't say you couldn't. I'm saying the reason to change tires mid race is to get warm rear tires. I've seen many players lose control under braking due to cold rear tires because they don't change tires and they don't tune the settings to compensate for that oversteer. If you can keep it on track and maintain your lap times without changing tires, all the power to you.

I guess the race is unbalanced, the Mazda is very quick on straights and handles better than other cars, but I might be wrong or just a whacky driver.

It’s not about courage. PD has artificially enhanced the performance of the Mazda and artificially detuned every other option. Pick any car you want, you can’t dream of hanging with the Mazda. Which saps the fun out of it. So to get an “actual” race and any test of skill, you have to.
