DMT was a changing for me. I became one face of a multi-faceted experience prism, my side being my particular life experience. my awareness expanded and my social anxiety and depression was entirely gone. Truly magical!

Not sure how it all happened 10 years later now, but in 2013 my appendix burst and developed sepsis and I died for four minutes in the ER. Not sure if it was the natural release of DMT at the end of life, but I went from hating my job to passing out in my cubicle and dying, to quitting my job and having a whole new outlook now. In those four minutes I flew around the world and felt what it was like to be a cloud, a raindrop, a blade of grass, a leaf, and animal, other people, and even the wind itself, all at once, simultaneously. It “told” me “it’s all one” and “you belong here.” I was never one for remembering dreams, but ten years later I still remember that experience down to the second. It was like a memory of a lesson I hadn’t learn yet. It’s amazing to think I have no idea where the experience came from, but the message couldn’t not have been more direct and true. It’s all one- just be good. You’re a part of it.

I think I died in my sleep but I don’t know obviously . I had what was either a dream or the afterlife . I think it was the latter . I all of sudden was looking down at the earth and in a matter of seconds I was flying out of the solar system and I saw all the planets and was moving away from the planets at such a high speed that I was at other stars and planets. It felt too real as if when I woke up that was dreaming and not where I just came from.

I took a hit of DMT and suddenly, everything around me began to warp and shift. Colors blended together in a swirling vortex until I found myself transported to a new dimension. The first thing I noticed was the vibrant neon colors that seemed to radiate from everything around me. The second was the presence of strange, alien landscapes that defied all logic and reason. As I wandered through this new dimension, I came across a group of beings who seemed to be waiting for me. They welcomed me and explained that they were ancient, wise creatures who had been studying the universe for eons. One of the beings stepped forward and offered to reveal the meaning of life. I eagerly accepted, feeling a sense of excitement and wonder that was hard to describe. As I closed my eyes, I felt a rush of warmth and light wash over me. My mind was flooded with images and sensations that seemed to stretch beyond time and space. I saw the universe in all its glory, from the moment of the Big Bang to the present day. I saw galaxies being born and dying, stars exploding in supernovas, and planets teeming with life. And then I saw something else - a glimmering, radiant force that seemed to pulse with life and energy. It took me a moment to realize what it was, but then it hit me - love. Love was the start of life, because every life started with making love. It was the spark that ignited the flame of creation, the force that drove us forward, and the one thing that made everything else worth it. As I came back to myself, I realized that the beings were smiling at me. They knew what I had discovered, and they were pleased. I felt a sense of peace and understanding wash over me as I realized that the meaning of life was something that I would spend my whole life exploring and discovering. Love is the beginning, the middle, and the end of everything. It's what gives life its meaning and purpose, and it's what makes every moment worth living. And as I journey through life, I know that I'll always be guided by this truth - that love is the key to unlocking the mysteries of the universe.

I’m a recovering drug addict. I was a functional user. I could blend in enough to hold down jobs for a year or so. I would do coke and speed on the weekends. I had a 3-4 month meth binge once. And then when I got my wisdom teeth pulled at age 29… I found the secret to life. Painkillers gave me energy, made me happy, and motivated me. And that went away soon and i was just left with a massive pill addiction. My point is that I’ve been clean off everything NOT prescribed to me. But I’ve been searching for answers and happiness. And I simply HAVE NOT found it. I’ve always struggled with death. Mainly bc Ive always questioned the existence of God and an afterlife. And this seems like it could help. I really wish Joe Rogen could hear my comment and someone could help me. I’m just beat down with my 8-5. No family to come home to. Barely see my kids. I guess this is it. This is it. But I’d love to see then”oneness” he speaks of. Bc I feel like I have a true heart. Even after all the shit I’ve been through. And there’s a lot more before where I started this post. But no one’s gonna read it anyways. Felt good to let it it regardless.

Yes It can. In fact the psy/nurse that told me I had dyst. Told me most people know they have it after going tru a mayor depression. That's what happened To me. After that.. I went to the library and read on dysth. For the first time. It was like reading my autobiography. 1 wished I didn't go tru the mayor depression to find out what I had. It was bad. But I guess it was meant To be that way. Oh and i can fall into a mayor depression again. But since I know what I have, I'm trying To take control of my actions, of my life. But it hard since the mayor depression I went tru left big economic problems. Which.. jejejeje brings me down more.

@@ImDahDude From my experience/experimentation, I believe psychedelics/mediation/sound frequencies breaks down the barrier between our conscious and subconscious mind, allowing our conscious mind to experience our sub conscious thoughts, feelings and memories..... however I also believe, in our subconscious mind we can access the universal consciousness...... One of my first truly breakthrough experiences, during my own experimentation was this..... the words/feeling/communication I was experiencing, felt as if they were coming from someone/something/somewhere else....... """"" Hey we've been waiting for you....... don't be scared...... don't be scared....... your family is here with us..... you don't really know him well, but he's family, he's family...... it's (then proceeded to tell me a name) he's safe, he's here with us, he's your family don't worry, he's with us"""" 3 days later I was with my mum and we were talking about our family and I was asking if any of my older family members had caught or been effected by c v..... at first she said no.... then after a short pause she said her cousin..... with the same name I had heard/felt/experienced 3 days before had been in a coma for 4 days with pneumonia and died the day after my experience......... I was gobsmacked and instantly began to feel an incredibly sadness this was one of the most profound experiences of my life......... I had only ever met the man a few times and never really seen him or his family in my day to day life or on social media as I only use this......... there had been no mention from anyone or way of me knowing about his predicament in the weeks prior. I was a hard-core atheist before this....... now I have a new found sense of........ enlightenment amazement, fascination and desire to discover the world to which is there but we cannot see or experience, not in our normal state anyway. "Ive just given up on my reputation." Wonderfully said aha. Ive gotten into your podcasts more lately and im glad because in a world that wants to cloud my perspective on life, your podcast is like a clarity bomb. Im breaking through a period of healing and your podcasts have been instrumental in that effort. Especially your talks on DMT. In a world that wants you to be polarized, radicalized, incapable of distinguishing whats real from whats fake, I want to thank you for the work you do. This comment will probably get burried but seriously. Im just glad that in a world that tried to radicalize, traumatize, and make me incapable of distinguishing whats real from whats fake, im glad that i started listening to your podcasts more. The creativity thing he's talking about where the brain is an antenna - while I believe that is somewhat true - there is a spirit world and that influences your mind and heart - I do think a good answer to it besides that is: The individual is accessing the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is perhaps far more richer/ full of information collected and processed over the course of ones life, so much so that the conscious mind is actually limited in comparison. So when they say they just "get themselves out the way", perhaps what is happening is they are no longer using their conscious mind to create something, but instead choose to access and allow the subconscious mind to flow through with all the information they did not know they harboured within themselves, which converts into such creativity.

I agree, but also thing we shouldn’t discount our inherent connection with the divine. Forget about institutionalized religion. Open your heart and soul to SOME sort of higher power, delete all your preconceived notions. I believe Christianity was injected into humanity via Jesus 2000 years ago because that’s what human beings needed to guide them at that time in our history. You do not need the institution, for we’ve outgrown them intellectually as a species. Break down the intellectual cage we’ve been out in.

I’ve been meditating n doing tai chi for nearly 50 years. I’m a visual artist & never ever short of creative ideas and if I meditate with high concentration, over a period of time, I can naturally produce DMT. My major point in saying so is that this is the first video I’ve listened to that stresses and expresses this phenomenon so well. Strassman expresses this perfectly in his suggestion of a concept that we interact with endogenous dmt all the time and that it’s always at a steady level; already in our system. Joe Rogan knows exactly what Strassman is talking about and expresses his pearls of wisdom, in my mind, with genius touch. Covering religion, and so many fields and so interesting, I could easily go another hour of extended listening to this podcast.

Such a wonderful and integrative clip, I can't properly express how good it feels for these ways of speaking and experiencing to be approached with such openness, creativity, and precision (to whatever extent). Thank you so much :) It's not the thinking about parallel dimensions and alternate modes of matter and existence that drives anyone mad, it'a the Cassandra syndrome of not being believed, of being belittled and shamed for keeping doors to consciousness open. Let us decultify psychedelics, indeed!

After a couple DMT trips I also was puzzled by what is 'truly real'. As it does reveal a certain depth of experience that you otherwise wouldn't have access to, or even have the ability to contemplate if it wasn't forced upon you by DMT. This lead me on the path to investigate how the mind/consciousness interacts with "reality". This field of study is known as cognitive science. If anyone else out there has the same interest, I highly recommend the podcast Theories of everything with Kurt Jaimungal. I particularly find his guest Joscha Bach very fascinating on this topic. Cheers everyone!

I came up with a DMT theory around 30 years ago while on a DMT trip that altered my sense of time. I realized that the common house fly isn't moving that fast, but to it we are moving that slow. Do to every living thing creating DMT in it's body the amount of DMT controls the perception of time. By slightly increasing the amount of DMT in the Human body it is shown to lower time perception, but increase reaction time.

Better yet we are conscious because we are capable of generating future thoughts and past thoughts our brain is a Time Machine it’s self not in a literally sense but in a logical sense. I mean just imagine the state of your consciousness if you could not think of the future I.e tomorrow or the past. Imagine not being able to predict what tomorrow is going to be like. You would quite literally be no different from an animal. That is what separates us, it’s what allows us to dig deeper into ourselves and look ahead. Honestly it’s quite possible psychedelics played a role in the development of the human brain during our early stages. This is a perception that allows our brains to digest information. Scientifically speaking in a literal since their is no linear scale of time, the linear pathway is a logical way to measure events but is no means the actual pathway of time it’s self. Time it’s self is a constant, it’s the rate of particles over an area. Different areas and places in the universe as well as many variables will affect this rate meaning time is not locked together but is individual rates of a constant over a field of an area.

If you go to a very quiet room, control your breathing and actually meditate. You can have a spiritual experience. Like, how Joe talked about doing the “floating” experiences. Those are ideal for spiritual experiences. You are dialed in to your thoughts and body. We are often distracted in the grind of life. If you sit down and really take the time to calm down and breathe. It is so beneficial to your health and well being.

As I lay on the floor, surrounded by pillows and blankets, I closed my eyes and waited for the DMT to take effect. It was my first time trying the powerful psychedelic drug, and I was a little nervous. At first, I didn't feel much of anything. I lay there, waiting, my mind racing with thoughts and fears. But then, suddenly, I was hit with a wave of euphoria and wonder. The world around me seemed to melt away, replaced by an otherworldly landscape filled with bright colors and geometric patterns. I felt myself being pulled into the center of this kaleidoscope, as if I were being sucked into a vortex. The sensation was both exhilarating and terrifying, and I couldn't help but feel like I was being shown a glimpse of something beyond my understanding. As I soared through the psychedelic landscape, I felt a deep sense of connection to the universe. I was filled with a sense of love and unity, as if I were a part of something much greater than myself.

To your point Joe around minute 12.00 talking about the muse. I used to write a lot about 10 years ago, I probably wrote at least a million words and published 76 books, novellas and short stories on Amazon. It was like something came and was with me. Often the words came so fast it was all I could do to get them down onto the computer. I never knew where the story was going. Sometimes it would go in a different direction - whatever was writing with me knew where it was going, I think it always had an end in mind. I did a lot of self-hypnosis in my mid-twenties and I might have felt more than other people. Whatever it was, it felt like an intelligent entity, it definitely wasn't coming from my brain, it felt like it got something from doing this. There were times when I wrote for 14 hours at a stretch but if I did that I couldn't write the next day. When I got a different job I was too busy to write and I got the impression a few times as though it was put into my head that if I didn't write more then it would leave and I think that's what actually happened in the end. You don't need to have any kind of ritual to call it. If you sit down to write then it will come. From what I remember it came after the first three or four times when I had decided I was going to write a book.
