Hey Guys, here is our HONEST Reaction and Review to What Is Hinduism??
What is Hinduism?
Hinduism, the religion of over a billion people, is the world’s oldest religion and the most confusing one to non-Hindus. It makes billions of people around the world ask, What is Hinduism? Some say it isn’t even a religion, more a way of life. Hindus themselves call it Sanātana Dharma, the eternal tradition. So what is Hinduism, does YOLO apply to them, and who is that elephant god?
Hinduism is the world's oldest active religion. It's the result of the merging of the ancient Indus Valley civilisation and nomads that came into India around 1500BC. Some scholars say it could even go back many more thousands of years.
Hinduism has a long long history. But today we'll be focusing just on the core beliefs of Hindus because I don't have the willpower to animate a 3-hour video.
Hinduism is so diverse, so deep, and means so many different things to different people. Learning even the basics of this fascinating and ancient religion gives us an insight into the worldview of over a billion people.

@@aayushsharma6755 then why do you think brahmins practised this unjust system,for example in kerala back in those days, the lower caste people ( The untouchables) had to hide when these brahmins used to come as even seeing untouchables were considered polluting, and then other caste people had to maintain distance from these brahmins. Women from lower castes were not even allowed to cover there breasts. There are lot more of these restrictions.

This classification into four tiers of social structure can be understood in different contexts. One way of looking at it is, those who did not take responsibility for their own lives or those who did not take responsibility with the situations in which they lived in, such people were termed as Shudras; he is taking responsibility only for his survival, nothing more. The Vaishya is somebody who takes responsibility for himself, his family and his community. So trading was given to him. Today, the whole system, the whole business atmosphere is very different, but in those times the trader is somebody who stored up grains and all the necessary things that people would need. When there was a scarcity, he gave it out to the community. So in every community there were Vaishyas who took care of this aspect of life - they stored commodities and gave it out when it was needed. These are people who took responsibility for their family and to some extent the smaller community around them. Kshatriyas were people who took responsibility for the whole community or the country. They were the people who bore arms to defend their nation and community and were willing to die to protect the people. They were given administration, and the military apparatus were in their hands. The brahmins were given education. Spiritual processes and religion were in his hands because the word ‘brahmin’ itself comes from this, that it is somebody who has realized that he is the Brahman or the ‘Divine.’ So a brahmin comes from an ultimate sense of responsibility, an unlimited sense of responsibility. Only a person who has an unlimited sense of responsibility should handle education and religion because they were considered as the most vital aspects of any society. Difference vs Discrimination So accordingly, the caste system was made in India. It was a good arrangement for those days. It is just that over a period of time, you became a brahmin by birth not by worth; that is when the trouble started. That is so with every system. Whatever system we create, we must constantly work to keep it clean and make it happen well otherwise every system, no matter how beautiful the system is to start with, can become a source of exploitation. It is just that over a period of time, you became a brahmin by birth not by worth; that is when the trouble started Over a period of time, human societies have tried to make every difference into a discrimination. Differences are fine. The world is bound to be different and it is nice that it is different, but we try to make every difference into a discrimination, whether it is race, religion or gender. So when we lost our senses and started making everything discriminatory, the Indian caste system became an ugly system. What was once a very relevant way to develop skills in a society has unfortunately became discriminatory and negative, not productive. When there were no IITs or ITIs, when there were no training centers, your family was the only way to train, isn't it? So it was very important to maintain a blacksmith culture, a goldsmith culture or a cobbler culture; otherwise there would be no skills. The Indian caste system: Modes of training This whole caste system in India came when there were no formal training centers for any particular profession. Suppose your father was a blacksmith, so at the age of 6, the moment you were ready, you started playing around with the hammer and anvil. By the time you were 8, your father saw that you anyway wanted to hit it, so it was better to hit it with some purpose. By the time you were 12, you were on the job. By the time you were 18 or 20, you had some craft and expertise on your hand to make your own living. This whole caste system in India came when there were no formal training centers for any particular profession So if your father was a blacksmith, you became a blacksmith; if your father was a goldsmith, you became a goldsmith. Each profession developed its own training centers within the family structure because that was the only training center; all the craft, professionalism and skills in the society could only evolve like this. If you are a blacksmith, you do not try to go and do a goldsmith's job, you just do a blacksmith's job because we need a blacksmith in the society. When people multiplied and became a thousand blacksmiths, naturally they had their own way of eating, their own way of marriage and their own way of doing things, so they formed a caste. There is really nothing wrong with it if you look at it on one level. It was just a certain arrangement of convenience for the society. Between a blacksmith and a goldsmith, the kind of hammer they use, how they work, how they look, what and how they eat, everything was naturally distinctly different because the type of work was very different.

Yes, the Caste system went in the wrong direction but its relation to Manusmriti is wrongly put as most scholars have not read the original Manusmriti book but they read Britisher translated English book which has been wrongly translated. If Britishers haven't put wrong translations then it would be easier to remove wrong things in the caste system.

@nihar pilawan Yes, I agree with you that caste-based discrimination still exists although it has been reduced to a very low extent. But, now it's been on both sides. Nowadays many "savarns" too are getting discriminated against. So, I'm not against the reservation systems but indeed I support modifications in the basics of the reservation system as the situation has been changed for many and the old system is not efficient anymore and politicians are taking benefit of these loop holes.

And I have so, far by myself read 2 of his books including "Annihilation of Caste" and going to read more of his works in the future. But, as a matter of fact, Ambedkar Saheb has by himself in the preface of his book, as have self told that he didn't know Sanskrit and all his writing's are on the basis of English translated books which he considered good enough to talk about Manusmriti. And as a matter of fact, Manu smriti is written in Vedic Sanskrit which is very different from Classical Sanskrit. And brother I'm not doubting your ingenuity I'm just stating facts. #The ten AVATARS of VISHNU & EVOLUTION #The first avatar was the Matsya avatar, it means the fish. That is because life began in the water. #Then came the Kurma Avatar, which means the tortoise, because life moved from the water to the land. The amphibian. So the Tortoise denoted the evolution from sea to land. #Third was the Varaha, the wild boar, which meant the wild animals with not much intellect, you call them the Dinosaurs. #The fourth avatar was the Narasimha avatar, half man and half animal, the evolution from wild animals to intelligent beings. #Fifth the Waman avatar, the midget or dwarf, who could grow really tall. There were 2 kinds of humans, Homo Erectus and the Homo Sapiens and Homo Sapiens won that battle of being survival of the fittest. #The Sixth avatar was Parshuram, the man who wielded the axe, the man who was a cave and forest dweller. Angry, and not social. #The seventh avatar was Ram, the first thinking social being, who laid out the laws of society and the basis of all relationships. #The Eighth avatar was Balarama, a true farmer showed value of agriculture in the life #The Ninth avatar was Krishna, the statesman, the politician, the lover who played the game of society and taught how to live and thrive in the social structure. #And finally will come KALKI avatar The man who will be genetically supreme." #VISHNU is not someone sitting up in sky You are VISHNU Everyone must have seen a pic where VISHNU is resting & Laxmi is pressing his leg. That picture is showing that if you focus on karma( hard work) then Laxmi ( wealth & prosperity) will herself serve you. But if you run after Maya & Moh (Materialistic temporary reality) then Laxmi ( wealth & prosperity) won't serve you. In short👇 Paise ke peeche mat bhag kaam ke Peche baag paise apna aap milega. Hinduism is all about symbolism. All Hindu god's are just manifestation of 1 supreme being (BRAHM) ultimate truth.

These 27 points will describe what is special about being a Hindu: 1) Believe in God! - Aastik - Accepted 2) Don't believe in God! - You're accepted as Nastik. 3) You want to worship idols - please go ahead. You are a murti pujak. 4) You dont want to worship idols- no problem u can focus on Nirguna Brahman. 5) You want to criticise something in our religion. Come forward. We are logical. Nyaya, Tarka etc are core Hindu schools 6) You want to accept beliefs as it is. Most welcome. Please go ahead with it. 7) You want to start your journey by reading Bhagvad Gita - Sure! 8) You want to start your journey by reading Upanishads - Go ahead 9) You want to start your journey by reading Purana - Be my guest. 10) You just don't like reading Puranas or other books. No problem my dear. Go by Bhakti tradition. 11) You don't like idea of Bhakti! No problem. Do your Karma. Be a karmayogi. 12) You want to enjoy life. Very good. No problem at all. This is Charvaka Philosophy. 13) You want to abstain from all the enjoyment of life & find God - jai ho! Be a Sadhu, an ascetic ! 14) You don't like the concept of God. You believe in Nature only - Welcome. (Trees are our friends and Prakriti or nature is worthy of worship). 15) You believe in one God or Supreme Energy. Superb! Follow Advaita philosophy 16) You want a Guru. Go ahead. Receive gyaan. 17) You don't want a Guru.. Help yourself! Meditate, Study! 18) You believe in Female energy! Shakti is worshipped. 19) You believe that every human being is equal. Yeah! You're awesome, come on let's celebrate Hinduism! "Vasudhaiva kutumbakam" (the world is a family) 20) You don't have time to celebrate the festival. Don't worry. One more festival is coming! There are multiple festivals every single day of the year. 21) You are a working person. Don't have time for religion. Its okay. You will still be a Hindu. 22) You like to go to temples. Devotion is loved. 23) You don't like to go to temples - no problem. You are still a Hindu! 24) You know that Hinduism is a way of life, with considerable freedom. 25) You believe that everything has God in it. So you worship your mother, father, guru, tree, River, Prani-matra, Earth, Universe! 26) And If you don't believe that everything has GOD in it - No problems. Respect your viewpoint. 26) And If you don't believe that everything has GOD in it - No problems. Respect your viewpoint. 27) "Sarve jana sukhino bhavantu" (May you all live happily). This is exactly the essence of Hinduism, all inclusive. That is why it has withstood the test of time inspite of repeated onslaught both from within and outside. That is why it is eternal !!!! Ano bhadrah Krathavo Yanthu Vishwathah" - Let the knowledge come to us from every direction

The Brahman he was talking is called Vedanta philosophy. But Hinduism does give you the freedom to worship god in any form or even without form. "God is one but the wise seek him in different ways" a famous quote in Hinduism. That's why many Hindus believe all religion are valid.

Manusmriti haven't locked the caste system Manusmriti was originally written for all the people to easily understand what lord Krishna has conveyed to us humans. Also here comes Britishers they manipulated the original Manusmriti and written in into English and exploited the original teachings and started divide and rule between the same religious people. Don't be mistaken by these fake narratives.

The caste system was originally based/devised on profession i.e. A scholar can turn into a Brahmin if he had the ability or dedication to do so. Their works defined their caste. But after the world started to civilized more, they proposed that the caste system is to be based on birth !! This was been recorded in the "Manu Smriti" book. Though it wasn't as oppressive as it got in the later 18th century when Brits invaded India.

@nihar pilawan listen I had the same question but I think I have figured it out. First I was also thinking that this means labourers are lower than others how is that possible. But remember the scriptures mentioned that brahmin are the brain, kshatriya the hands, the vaishyas the thighs and shudras the legs. Now if you think about it the analogy is perfect if you compare the roles/ work. Now you'll say but shudras are compared to feet and that's not how it should be, but that's the catch my friend. People think only the people with brain are best but they don't realize people doing jobs with hands or feet are also important for society to work. They compare with feet not because they were described as a low being thing but they wanted to tell that just like our feet, shudras form the ground base of a society, they form the foundation of a society! Just like the feet without them we will never be able to stand or walk. Hence labourers should be respected because they lay the foundation. But alas you know us humans right? We tend to misinterpret a lot of things and mess it up.
@mtk3755
@mtk3755 2 жыл бұрын
@nihar pilawan And it never said someone is better or worse, it compared with our body and told the roles. But that comparison to feet is what lead to misinformation and lead to locked caste system and evolved to what we have today.

Hinduism or Sanatan Dharma has given birth to 3 different sects they are Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism but in today's world and becoz of Britishers these sects are been cut from Sanatan Dharma which is now known as different religions sikh Buddhism jain but they are sects of Hinduism or Sanatan Dharma.

Punjabi developed from Prakrit languages and later (Sanskrit: अपभ्रंश, 'deviated' or 'non-grammatical speech') From 600 BC, Sanskrit was advocated as official language and Prakrit gave birth to many regional languages in different parts of India. All these languages are called Prakrit (Sanskrit: प्राकृत, ) collectively. Paishachi Prakrit was one of these Prakrit languages, which was spoken in north and north-western India and Punjabi developed from this Prakrit. Later in northern India Paishachi Prakrit gave rise to Paishachi Aparbhsha, a descendant of Prakrit. Punjabi emerged as an Apabhramsha, a degenerated form of Prakrit, in the 7th century A.D. and became stable by the 10th century. The earliest writings in Punjabi belong to Nath Yogi era from 9th to 14th century A.D. The language of these compositions is morphologically closer to Shauraseni Apbhramsa, though vocabulary and rhythm is surcharged with extreme colloquialism and folklore.
