Tony, that was a jack-up oil drilling rig. I used to work on OSVs (Offshore Supply Vessels) in the Gulf of Mexico that used to bring supplies to them offshore.

I just came back from a Mediterranean cruise and extras just paid 107dlls We just enjoy what we have included and have the most great time Awsome food at the Main Dinning Room and the buffet we go out and have lunch with the locals was just perfect We dont have drink package just the Coffe Select card

*Royal Caribbean has been a great cruise line to vacation on.*

I pay for shore excursions. Also a few alcoholic drinks. I also attend Captain's Cocktail parties and get the free drinks and appetizers. I have also gone to some of the Art Auction lectures and gotten free wine and art prints. They do have some nice art. The thing to keep in mind is it's not really investment art. You only buy it if you like it and want to hang or display in in your home or your office.

This was great information. I purchased the specialty drink package as well as zip line and a beach bed for the private island...but I def thought I sounds be paying for the shows. Found out it was included in my price. That's amazing.

This is great info for someone who never cruised period or never cruised Royal. Trying to figure out your budget on a cruise can drive you crazy. I’ll say this. After the cost of the actual cruise, factor in taxes, gratuities, packages you want, excursions on port day, any money you may want to spend in shops, money to get to and from your port and Lastly, emergency money and travel insurance. For everything you do on the ship, multiply it by two! Even if your by yourself, they will charge you for two for a lot of things. This will give you pretty much a lump sum of how much everything will cost. As for packages, I would look at specialty dining and drink package. Some may want to look at WiFi if it’s good on ship. For the drink package, it may seem like a lot upfront, but consider for example a 7 day cruise. 2 drinks per day at $15 each and multiple that by 2 for 7 days is $420. Most people who drink and on vacation are going to have more than two drinks per day so you know that package will pay for itself!

I booked a cruise on Royal for 2/9/24, leaving from Australia. When I saw your video I called them about the gratuities. They explained that the gratuities are only added in in fare for the Australian market or not for US residents.

Super informative. Our cruise sets sail in 3 weeks (Navigator of the seas) and this will be our first time on Royal. We’ve been on Carnival many times but this cruise line is significantly different from theirs. Trying to get aquatinted beforehand so we’ll know what to expect. Are the cabanas an extra fee or FCFS?

I’m lost. If I pre pay gratuity, do I also pay gratuity throughout the day? Or if I pay $14.50 a day instead do I pay that $14.50 PLUS 18% per purchase? If so that’s awful

We're part of a large party and I've been told that although the RC app provides a way to communicate with the rest of your party, there's no way to make it notify you that a message has come in. If so, that's a shame. Sure would be useful.

My first time going on a cruise with my boys was recently going with family. Everybody in my family dropped out but me and my kids were still going but money is kind of tight if I would’ve known my family was not going to attend I would have picked a different day different time to go with my kids like the summer I don’t wanna lose my money because I had already paid and it’s too late canceled the cruise is two days away.

On Royal Caribbean freedom of the Sea do you know if everything stays open, such as the waterslide, Rockwall, etc. during port days, such as the day at CocoCay? I wouldn’t be concerned about shop staying open or casinos, but more interested in knowing if stuff for kids and teens would be open. Would appreciate any info you can provide.
