And it's always the cheapest thing you can buy at a fair or theme park but it always butchers your tongue. The best part is how it always changes the colour of your tongue. That's it. 🌈
@jarajelly
@jarajelly 6 жыл бұрын
Simon and Martina LOL exactly! And you're like "it's so hot and i need something cold and it's ok it won't be that bad" and then your tongue feels like, as you said, you've been chewing/gnawing on crushed light bulbs. Cause that ish does NOT dissolve. And us sensitive teeth people are in immense pain. We understand each other.

They have this type of shaved ice in the US too, you just gotta know where to get it 😎

The soft type in this video is REALLY common down in the bayou around SE Texas and Louisiana. In fact this soft shave ice is basically the only type you see. Our machines look a little different than the one he uses, but they are also really old big cast iron things and we end up with a snowy powder that's really traditional to put a scoop of ice cream in the middle of!

Perhaps the most famous shaved ice in America comes from Bob's Taco Station in Rosenberg, Texas. It was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives - twice. It's part of my dream #foodie vacation itinerary. And since I'm completely immune to the whole frozen headache phenomenon (I suspect it's because my mouth is too big), I can enjoy without worry.

The Korean version is absolutely NOT the crunchy glass kind! It's super duper yummy! If you find a Korean, Japanese, or Taiwanese shop that sells it just make sure they don't have those obvious dye filled pumps in eye shot or else you'll be getting the cheap crunchy glass kind! Haha!

Looooove this video!! so funny, and it looks really yummy, this needs to come to canada fast!! Also loving to listen to your podcasts going from new to old because I only discovered this recently: let me tell you, it's the best thing to listen to while drawing! I laugh so much, and I learn, and it's a little bit like spending time with you two charming persons so it's really nice :)

That ice shaving machine is possibly the coolest gadget I have ever seen. (I'm from NY) Martina's description of American shaved ice is spot on.
