Thank you for the whole series! I've been "volunteered" to take over the Build/Release Engineer role in our team (basically because we'd been unable to find anyone who would bring this experience), so now I am learning Jenkins and all other stuff, and this videos are very helpful.

Hey Sadique, You can also refer to the 8th video of this Jenkins series to understand Jenkins flow using declarative pipeline: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/d6l3ks2KqNa9iJs.html&ab_channel=LambdaTest. In the video, we define what declarative pipelines are and do a walk-through of creating a declarative pipeline. However, we didn't explicitly mention that the pipeline we are writing is a declarative pipeline. :) Hope it helps!

thanks for the quick and clear information. Can you please explain "regardless the build passes or fails, jenkins will still publish result at source code repository"? And should we also use jenkins for merging code change in local branch to the main master branch, or we can directly commit and push the changes and let jenkins handle the automation from the master branch directly? Thank you.

Hey Atee, When Jenkins says it "publishes the result at the source code repository", it means it reports back the build status (pass/fail) to your repo like GitHub, GitLab, etc. As for merging changes, it's up to your workflow. Jenkins can automate merging, but this requires trust in your testing process. More commonly, developers push to their branches, Jenkins tests these, and upon success, a pull request is created to merge changes into the main branch, which Jenkins tests again.
