But before the question, I'd like to say thank you for your video content on Lean. I've learned a lot from your videos. You are very good at producing some quality content, in which you educate your viewers on Lean and other construction principles. Again, THANK YOU! I have a question, but it's also a challenge. Q: How do you implement "Lean" on very small scale projects? I will paint a scenario for you, and I'd like to hear your recommendation for implementing Lean. As part of the challenge, saying the following are not options: 1) "You can't;" 2) "It won't work;" 3) "It won't have significant benefits." What I would like to hear will incorporate the following: 1) Describe how to implement it; 2) Describe the benefits & significance for using Lean in this scenario. I can think of a few, but I would like to hear yours. Scenario: Background: The company I work for (We will call it "Construct") handles many different types of projects ranging from building multi story commercial structures from the ground up to small TIs to very small projects at remote locations (high in the mountain tops) which typically are self-perform only that might last only a couple of days. Construct has recently introduced Lean Construction to its employees. They brought in Joe Donarumo & Keyan Zandy to lead a seminar on bringing Lean to Contruct. This was last year. Our CEO has mandated that all our personnel will be fully implementing Lean on ALL our projects by a certain date this year. Resistance: Naturally, any time there is change, there is push-back (especially on smaller projects): "Our project is too small!" Or "Our project is too remote!" Or "We don't have the room to bring these boards to our small, remote projects!" The Sample Project: We are to swap out a couple of exterior doors and repair some dry-rot on the exterior of the building at a remote, secluded mountain top site (about a five-hour drive away). It is scheduled to take two days for two workers. The Challenge: Can you (being the expert) come up with a realistic, viable solution to effectively implement Lean on such a project? I'd like to hear your thoughts on this and how Lean can be beneficial in this scenario. I appreciate your efforts and your time. Bob

Hey Jason, Im about to start a superintendent job for the first time. Ive been a manager is construction with smaller teams, 8-10 trades persons for about 6 years however never at the scale im about to have the responsibility for 40-50 trades persons and I am feeling a bit nervous about it. What advice can you offer to help me get started down the right path?
