@@ShaanPratap It depends. *Bsc Medical Microbiology(4 years) + Msc Microbiology(2 years) - 6 years* (Note: In some colleges Bsc Medical microbiology takes only 3 years, but for Msc almost every colleges have made mandatory to study a 4 Years Bsc Medical Microbiology for admission in Msc. Medical Microbiology.) *If u opt for Bsc and Msc Microbiology then it will take 5 years (3 Years BSc & 2 Years Msc)* You could go for Msc Microbiology after Bsc medical microbiology. But make sure that u don't go for Msc. Medical microbiology after Microbiology, it will narrow down your scopes. Then after your Msc, in PhD it varies according to your research topic. It may take 3-6 Years. There are many ways that u could complete PhD faster. I am not much aware of that. *So, it takes a totla of 8-11 years (For Microbiology) & 9-12 years (for Medical Microbiology)* It purely depends on the topics of your research. If u like to study about Microbes that affect mainly the humans the opt for Medical Microbiology and do practicals in hospitals, & if u want to study all Microbes including the one affecting humans then go for Microbiology. It's u r wish and life. Take decisions wisely. Aditional Motivation for choosing Medical Microbiology and Microbiology : There will be Billion dollar investments on the fields of Biotechnology and Microbiology in future. But not sure about the time. In india it wil be delayed. But don't worry it's a better period for Microbiologists as we are going through the Pandemic time. So in future we need more Microbiologists. The above information is based on my State(Kerala). I am not much aware of the colleges outside kerala. Bsc and Msc time periods for Medical microbiology may change in some colleges. But you should be very aware of the eligibility and requirements of colleges where you go for Msc. Make your rough plan From Bsc to PhD. And build your empire. Best of Luck

Besides Bsc microbiology, there is Bsc medical microbiology course which is a 4 year degree concerned with study of medically important microorganisms, and I’m one among them ma’am😊
