This element was hypothetical until 2004 when Russian scientists at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research at the University of Dubna discovered it in collaboration with scientists at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory at the University of California.
Following this, in 2013 it was confirmed by scientists at Lund University (Sweden) who like the previous ones bombarded calcium isotopes to an Americium sheet. The result was several atomic decays with a very short lifetime. Already in 2019, hypothetical compounds that could form the element with group 13 elements and their possible structures began to be studied.
