❗Remember, if you change your payload you must inform DVLA and get your v5 registration document updated.

As I understand the Elddis 135 type has a 3500kg weight limit, so it being nice and compact, I should not to need to go over the weight limit. Thanks for the information anyway.

Nice to see you at 2023 October NEC. I am looking at a 6 meter motorhome for myself and my dog. I will not need anything larger. The 6 meter motorhome still has a max weight of 3500kg. The larger the vehicle, the lower carrying capacity. When I am able to get a motorhome, the first thing after loading all the bits and pieces, I plan to fill up with fuel, plus a spare can of fuel, and fill up with water, then drive to a local weighbridge 2 miles away for the vehicle weight and an idea of any extras. The vans I am looking at have a carry capacity of 550 to 600 kg, so I should hopefully be well within the limits. If off grid and or wild camping, I feel one needs to include full water from the start. No kids, and widowed single for past 8 years. Great to watch a year later. Thanks.

@@MotorhomeMatt I originally used the weighbridge idea for a Ford Transit and Courier work to be under the designed weight limit and what goods I would carry. I am trying to sell a property in Mallorca, and it is not too an expensive type, so when I have sold the property, and money in my UK bank,I will hopefully get a new Elddis 135 type with a rear small garage type door for easier storage etc. under the rear bed area.

Hi matt I have just had air bags fitted to our 2019 rollerteam pegaso 740 , by glide right . I have spoken to sv tech and exactly as you said a full tank of fuel and weigh it . Fully then front and rear axle separate . But we had our transport manager in work today and he actually said something I didn’t know, you have to be careful what you up plate to as you may be barred from driving in France at weekends. As it isn’t a 7.5 ton van I don’t think this applies. I will be taking the motorhome to a vosa. weigh bridge in the next week . Love your pod casts your both very funny and lighthearted. Hi this is Jim from MotorhomeFun. Adding the axle weights together will not, in most cases, give you the Gross Vehicle Weight. 3:27. They will often add up to considerably more which is normally some spare capacity on the rear axle. The GVW is the first figure given, before the gross train weight and the axle weights. Thanks

Hi Jim, thanks for tuning in. You are absolutely correct, thanks for pointing this out. It is indeed the top figure on the plate is the GVW or Gross Vehicle Weight.
