Excellent video! I hope you'll come back and update it every few years as more myositis autoantibodies are discovered. Or maybe do 15-minute videos on each autoantibody. Thanks again for creating this.

Is Myositis unlikely, if all antibodies are negative? Symptoms are present, MRI Shows muscle edema and wasting.

Myositis antibodies are negative in 30% of patients.

Is anti-synthetase syndrome ever observed in the absence of one of the known antibodies?

I'm not an MD, but my understanding is that there are still more anti-synthetase antibodies to be discovered. In other words, yes it happens. I think also there are cases of necrotizing myopathy that are neither anti-HMGCR nor anti-SRP positive, so probably additional unknown autoantibodies there too. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.
