This, to my knowledge, is an example of method overloading, not polymorphism.

Yes, but I believe that method overloading is example of static (compile-time) polimorphism. While dynamic (run-time) polimorphism is implemented with virtual-override keywords in C# and it changes how object acts based on instance.
