After talking about probiotics in the last video, I want to talk to you about prebiotics today. The fibers used by the friendly bacteria in our gut or the probiotics we use as nutrients are called prebiotics. Bacteria synthesize postbiotics using prebiotics. All prebiotics are fiber, but not all fiber is prebiotic. In order for a fiber to be named as a prebiotic, it must be able to be used by the bacteria in the gut, contribute to their proliferation, and provide postbiotic synthesis by fermenting.
Among the prebiotics, especially the combination of inulin and fructooligosaccharide is extra different. The combination of these two fibers, which covers the entire large intestine, has many effects such as insulin resistance, intestinal epithelial repair, immune system, mineral absorption, weight loss, keeping full.
