Rhinitis means there is some irritation in the nasal cavity which is causing a running nose or a stuffy nose. This will be caused by infections, viral infections or in case of allergies. Sometimes it can happen in the absence as in the case of ladies who are pregnant due to the oral changes that are required for the baby to be protected within the uterus. The same hormonal changes will be affecting the nasal cavity which makes the tissues enlarged, swollen up and also susceptible as a result of which are having stuffy nose which lasts as long as the pregnancy lasts and invariably it reverts back to normal after the delivery. So Pregnancy rhinitis is not an alarming condition but certainly it can cause a lot of discomfort to breathing and sleeping because the lady will have some amount of difficulty breathing when she lies down. So it has to be treated symptomatically.
