This video needs to be seen by everyone! You've done it again. I found the best way for me to use protein in my natural hair is to use products not specifically for strengthening but still contain some protein. So like my shampoo has some and some in my leave in but they are not high up in the ingredients. Just a little here and there but full on treatments are too much.

Yess the “little and often” approach with protein is what will work best for protein sensitive hair and arguably it’s great at fixing damage as it occurs as opposed to waiting to do one big protein heavy treatment xxx

You really have the best videos. YES YES YES, let's normalise looking 'normal'. You're a beauty, edges slicked or not. And so timely! My hair had started acting weirdly - dry as, no matter how I tried to moisturise it, and the curls wouldn't form properly or clump (I'm a W&G girl). I finally worked out I probably had protein overload. I know my hair loves protein, but learning about the difference sizes of the chains is really helpful. Can't wait for your video about product recommendations. Keep them coming. Love ya ❤️

Thank you so much for this😭😭 because it can be hard just getting on here looking normal the pressure to be dolled up etc is crazy!! & yess I am the same my hair loves protein and I have definitely overdone it a lot of times, a good cleanse and lots of moisture should help revive your hair! & Love youuuu tooo🤍🤍

What a phenomenal, scientific explanation. It even explains my own, extremely protein sensitive experience. I find that for me the ABSOLUTE best way to get protein is to A.) use smallers proteins B.) use them in smaller quantities and C.) GET THEM VIA YOUR SHAMPOO!. It was always a hypothesis of mine but now I believe the reason it was working for me was the shampoo naturally cleanses away what would otherwise end up being "overabsorbed". I do still feel like "High / Low" porosity is mostly used to convey peoples hair relationship with moisture so even though all black hair is higher in porosity, I understand what they mean by saying low porosity.

Thank you!🥺🥺🤍🤍 & yess making sure to wash out excess protein is the way forward shampoos are great way to do this! & yes I understand it too but I do wish the natural hair would stop claiming low porosity, it’s a characteristic that only applies to Asians/Caucasians and makes it difficult to understand how/why our hair interacts with certain products! Thank you for your comment🤍🤍

I did know that there are different sizes of things like hyaluronic acid, but had no idea there were different sizes of protein. Sooo good to know!

This video series has been so helpful. I have religously stuck with. SheaMoistures Jamaican Black Castor Oils Line Religously and it uses Keratin and I have had no issues. But I use it about 4x year. And I do notice if i use it too much my hair would get stiff. And when this woukd happen I would intuitively switch to the Manuka line which I am just discovering uses Silk Protien. Now that I know know the difference even more I know how to implement my routine better. Thank you 🙏🏿

Omg Shea Moisture masks ruined my hair. I think its because it caused a protein buildup on my hair. My hair is wavy bleached so i think I am protein sensitive

I started taking a complex amino acid afew months ago. Alot of people are deficient in amino acid so i figure if i increase this internally my hair can only benifit. Its strong and healthy tho so im not complaining. I did do a protein treatment about a year and a half ago and my hair became brittle straight away and started breaking off. It was really bad. Took me a while to rebalance with moisturising so i will only take a supliment now just incase

Protein treatments and masks are for extremely damaged hair. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to use strong protein masks unless they truly need it otherwise yes it will ruin hair. Low molecular proteins in small doses is the best way to incorporate protein xx

@@naturalnadinee my hair is bleached and I thought it was extremely damaged so I did the Shea Moisture black castor oil mask and Oh my god my hair dries in 30 seconds now. Its scary and it gets super dry and frizzy so quickly. As if there is no moisture on my hair. I am absolutely mortified. And my hair used to take forever to dry before. So I’m guessing my hair is protein sensitive??

@@SoggyBreadBunSo sorry to hear that! But there’s hope. Have you considered finding a hair stylist that specializes in natural hair? At least you will have a professional working to get your hair back healthy and to a point where you can go back to managing your hair on your own. Good luck luv❤

Hi 👋🏽 I’ve recently found this channel and You’ve helped me so much! I bought the “amino touch” drops from Amazon. It uses hydrolyzed keratin and hydrolyzed collegen. Would you recommend them? Are they small or large proteins? 💗
