In this video, we are explaining the #RATEANALYSIS topic which is very important for all civil engineers for the preparation of BOQ, at the time of tender bidding quotation time from the contractor side, and at the time of Bill Preparation.
Rate Analysis: It is a determination of construction work’s activities cost per Unit wise including the contractor profit+water charge + tax% + misc.
Why rate analysis is important?
Rate analysis is important because of the following reason:
1. Client required to do rate analysis for the preparation of BOQ (Bill of Quantities )
2. Contractor required to do rate analysis for the tender bidding or Rate quotation against the client BOQ rates
3. Contractor required to do rate analysis for the bill preparation time.
In rate analysis, we calculate the involvement of Material, Manpower, Machineries total cost including water, electricity charge +Contractor profit + tax + misc. as a grand total cost for particular activities following to divide the total grand cost of activity by total quantity of activity or item.
Example : Activity PCC , Quantity = 100 cum ( Assumption )
In PCC we need to calculate the total cost of material, manpower, Machinery for the completion of PCC activity including water charge + electricity charge + contractor profit + tax+ misc. charge
Assume total cost for completion of PCC = 450000 Rs.
Rate Analysis = 450000/100
= 4500rs/cum ( rate analysis of PCC for 1 cum )

1. BOQ
2. AOR ( Analysis of Rate )
3. Market Rate
