Somehow, I didn't realize that this didn't become an Olympic event until Los Angeles 1984, or that there wasn't a team competition until Atlanta 1996. Even then, it is somewhat fascinating that this sport only takes place during the last four days of competition. During Tokyo two years ago, there were only three days dedicated to it oddly enough.

is there a reason why the guys rg isn't recognized? it looks pretty cool! and is gymnastics that has the dance routine but not using any of the tools.. is that kinda of like mix of both artistic and rhythmic gymnastics?
@elenashinohara9 ай бұрын
I honestly don’t know why… but I’m assuming it’s because not enough guys do it? And yea artistic gymnastics has floor routines where they do all their flipping. For rhythmic gymnastics, floor routines are done more when we are younger (without any of the flipping). Hope that answered your question!

I knew about the differences between artistic gymnastics and rhythmic gymnastics, I used to love watching them when I was young and still am, especially the rhythmic one, even though I'm a man, but now I like watching both. It's sad that they still don't recognise the men's rhythmic gymnastics discipline, though I think should there be a men's rhythmic gymnastics, the apparatuses should be different, it looks weird for men to be using the ribbon, maybe men's rhythmic gymnastics should be more kungfu like, using a bo-stick or something, just saying. I really love that you explain everything, especially the scoring part, I've always wondered that and now I know. Thanks

@hoshihime98359 ай бұрын
i dont think there is one, but since the body gets less elastic and flexible with time, i think most of them stop in their mid 20s/early 30s. Like ballerinas, they usually start to train since toddler age and most professional are in their late teens/early 20s (Of course there are exceptions)
