What is ROI - Return on Investment?

Күн бұрынValue is a crucial concept in Project Management. But there are different ways to calculate it. For my money, the most robust simple expression of value is Return on Investment, ROI.
ROI is the ratio of Net Income to Total Cost:
ROI = Net Income / Total Cost
And Net Income is Total Income minus Total Cost:
ROI = (Total Income - Total Cost) / Total Cost

I want to be like my comic book football hero with a twist: I want to be Roi of the PMOvers. I want to score a hatrick of investment returns. I want to dribble in an agile way past all the risks and issues and win the game within the schedule and scope of my 90 minutes. Now the amazing Dr Mike has perfectly articulated what ROI is, I want to be the portfolio boss of the corporate midfield, the Bryan Robson always tackling back against any overspend and/or penalties not converted into benefits from the spot. Is there a way you can calculate the eps if the ROI is given??

EPS? Do you mean Earnings per Share? I am talking about investments in projects and initiatives, not in stocks and shares. I don't know enough about markets and those kinds of investments. I would have thought earnings per share is a measure of your return on investing in shares, but I don't know what the relationship is between share prices and dividends, and the calculation of EPS. I'm a Project Manager, not a stock investor.
