Sony A7sIII: *6 Number of effective pixels: 1408 x 804 at 240 or 200 fps. 240 or 200 fps not available when using [XAVC HS 4K], [XAVC S 4K], or [XAVC S-I 4K] file formats. 2160 is not an integer divisible but 804? how is this resolution obtained from the sensor?

5:09 he said double the frame rate. So if you are shooting at 24 fps you should be shooting at at least 1/48. Probably defaults to 1/50.

@@myleslreed Well when he said that he was referring to setting the shutter angle to 180 degree, which yes is double the frame rate, however it was being applied to the slo-mo footage, not to the timeline frame rate, so shooting 60fps shutter speed was 1/120 or if 120fps then it would be set to 1/250 (closest you can get). So using this process, if you were shooting at 1fps, then your shutter speed would be 1/2 then, as per the 180 degree rule.

while you are correct in your calculations, @@soocmedia , it should be mentioned that the shutter speed in time lapse videos only matters with regards to the exposure. The shutter angle isn't really noticeable at such accelerated timelines as a time lapse video.

As per the 180 degree rule, if you are shooting 1fps, then your shutter is set to 1/2, as it’s double the frame rate.

I believe the main difference is that S&Q doesn’t require editing, you can just use/share the clip right out of the camera. The advantage of 4K120 though is that you’d get sound as well, giving you more options in the edit.

My Sony a1 has only a Rec Frame Rate of 50p and 100p while yours have 24, 60 and 120p, also your playing Frame rate up to 120 while my camera is up to 100. Would you please explain me the reason . Regards

American and some other places use 60Hz system, meaning their frame rates are usually 24/48/60/120/240. Meanwhile at leas in Europe they use 50Hz systems, so the framerates are 25,50,100,200 etc. You can change this in camera by switching between PAL/NTSC modes.

Please help with a shutter speed question. If I'm in S&Q mode trying to shoot 120fps 4K, I set my recording frame rate to 60fps and frame rate to 120fps. Should I set my shutter speed to 1/125 to keep it double 60fps or to 1/250 to double 120fps? Is it doubling off of the Recording frame rate at 60 or off of the desired frame rate set at 120fps? Thx :)

Double the recorded frame rate ;) in your case 120 FPS x2 -> 1/250 shutter speed

I bought a Sony VLZ-1 and put it on S&Q mode and did an entire day of interview with my 96 year old camera. I flew back home and there's no audio. The whole project is garbage. I should have checked. I never thought a camera would record video without audio. Ugh.
