Sari Ribbon is made of repurposed saris. I show you what it looks like and share some ideas on how it might be used.

Thank you for explaining about sari ribbon & showing examples. When I first heard the term, I didn't know what it was. It's very beautiful and would look good in slow stitch.

The silks are beautiful! Would love to see some projects you used them in as well.

I used some in the fabric book I videoed last week - the video is here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iLeCopSBxJqxoIU.htmlsi=pYk0Scl58vrqXybo but I have used them in crazy quilting a lot! You can see lots of my crazy quilting on pintangle.com under crazy quilting there are hundreds of examples

You go girl!! I had my morning coffee with you this morning. Sharon, Seeing you uploaded another Video boosted my energy even before coffee kicked in. Of course I located an excellent and reputable Fairtrade Shop on Etsy and have my cart filling up. 🤩 🥰 (No, I didn’t go crazy). PS. I’m going to feature one of your latest slow stitch videos this “Slow-stitch Sunday” on my CQ community. I’m finding that beginners in CQ are coming from the slow-stitch communities and/or stepping into the slow-stitch world first to test the CQ waters. I love that it’s a great way to practice with color palettes, fabrics and fibers of all textures, threads and the works!! Thank you! Karen

Thanks so much Karen I was wondering how successful these were - they take time - so your message is a great boost. I agree about cq and slow stitch being very close. I was thinking of doing a brightly coloured slow stitch roll just to hint at - let people see and demonstrate that!

@@SharonBoggon I do know the making the videos can be a pain ….. many women say the same. One of the reasons why I wanted to encourage you…AND… let my group know… see, Sharon’s doing slow stitch! Lol and linking you in a post. 😉

Those fabrics are beeeyoootiful !!! My first thought was "what can I crochet with that" 😄😄 and then a 100 quilting ideas flew thru my head. But some of those pieces are soo gorjuss I would put them in a pretty box just to look at every so often 😍😍

thanks - in the past I have used them mainly in crazy quilting very successfully but they make great little accents on projects

May we ask which Etsy shop you purchased from they are beautiful 🌸
@SharonBoggonАй бұрын
sorry I can not remember which shop it was - I just do a search and go from there. To be honest there are quite a few different sellers mostly priced about the same. I just check the photos and place an order.

it’s a shame that they are not just a bit wider
@SharonBoggonАй бұрын
I have seen some as wide as 4 - 6 inches you just have to look out for them

is it true they use saris from people who have passed and their clothing removed after the funeral? I have read this on 5 of my slowstich groups on facebook now

I have not heard this but India recycles everything so I think they are just old saris

Theses are called as borders in india not as ribbons ...you can buy them online through shopping sites like amezon mynthra ..you can buy a saree with zari border .you will get them for four hundred rupees and above..we call them zari borders not as ribbons..
