What is Semiconductor?
A semiconductor is a substance that has properties between an insulator and a conductor. Depending on the impurity that’s introduced to silicon, it can be classified as n-type semiconductor or p-type semiconductor. You can find more videos like this‪@MyBookofChemistry‬

So what is semiconductor?
@harish123eek9
@harish123eek9 2 жыл бұрын
Conductor: a substance that conducts electricity. Insulator: a substance that does not conduct electricity. Semiconductor: a substance that has properties between an insulator and a conductor. Doping: An impurity to (a semiconductor) to produce a desired electrical characteristic. N-semiconductor: Atoms with 5 valence electrons (Phosphorus) are added to semiconductor and provides extra electron energy level. Electrons can jump into the conduction band when the energy is provided by an applied voltage. P-semiconductor: Atoms with 3 (Bohr) valence electrons are added to semiconductor and has more holes than electrons. Electrons from the valence band can be elevated to extra hole energy levels when the energy is provided by an applied voltage.

Semiconductors are core to U.S. national security and economic interests, yet nine out of 10 of them are manufactured in China and other foreign countries. WHO THOUGHT THAT WAS A GOOD IDEA !?!
