Many thanks for uploading this video, with a concise definition of Spina Bifida, as a Certified Teacher of the Handicapped, younger physically disabled until age 21 when the State no longer provides for them - retired. This is a most rewarding career, as God has made these children the most beautiful in His universe 🙏🏻 💝

My pain Dr. informed me that I have spina difida before giving me a nerve block. my surgeon doesn't want to even see me because he says it should had been diagnosed before I was born. I was born in 1963, and I know my mother was not given an ultrasound then. I've had severe lower back pain for over 45 years, and my pain dr. is not accepting medicaid anymore. I've been relying on kratom ever since. my pain meds have been cut off. Has anyone here have had a similar experience? I need relief!!!

Once you grow up the doctors don't seem to care much nor do they even understand. I've spent my life avoiding pain meds and instead smoke weed and excersize everything often. Hydration and fiber will also help mitigate back pain due to intestinal pressure. Stay active and stay positive because life is hard enough on a good day my friend.

A dear and close friend of mine, who's in her early 50's has the most severe form of spina bifida. When she was diagnosed with it by age 1 (approximately) the doctors said she'd never walk. She proved them wrong during her childhood years and her younger adult years. She was blessed to have been able to walk on her own for as long as she did. The breaking point for her came when her adult day program that she would have therapy was closed for well over a year or a year and a half due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Consequently, she lost more ability to walk with a walker and has been using her wheelchair mainly.
