I LOVE the 3 ton low profile, long reach. It has the fast foot pump, plus it goes lower and higher than all the other Daytona jacks. It really is a solid piece of equipment and gives me the most versatility out of the bunch.

Yes , all the Harbor Freight Datona floor jacks will roll over zip ties that are laying on the floor. The front wheels on all Dayona floor jacks have curved wheels (inside of the front wheels to the outside of each front wheel]. Most all floor jacks don't have curved front wheels but have flat front wheels. Gregg Muse

If I had to make the choice. I would have went for the 3 ton long reach low profile. Though the lowest height is marginal but sometimes just a half inch can make a difference. What I do like is the higher 24inches. Works real well with the 6 ton Jack stands. And when I am working on the ground under a vehicle. It is nice to have that extra room without having to raise it in multiple stages to get the height I need. That is my own opinion. You may not need that aspect of it. I do.

I bought the 3-ton low profile long reach jack for myself. It has plenty of weight capacity for my needs, and I know for a fact it will easily go under my mother's 2007 Corolla S and lift my 2002 RAM 1500 Quad Cab 4x4 from the frame rail lickety split. I got it on sale for $179.99, so I was very happy with the price, too.

If you are going to be lifting heavier duty trucks with it I'd get the 4 ton. For most people however, the 3 ton low profile long reach is the best option. Has the foot pedal for when you don't want to pump it by hand 24/7 and can reach good jacking points easier than the regular one, especially if your pinch welds are rotted away and you can't use them.

Reminds me when I was young and dumb. Worked at a tire store that had the singe post in ground Rotary lifts. In order do lift a full size dodge van without the center post hitting the drive shaft we would use a 4x4 about 6 inches long on each side of the rear. Looking back lifting those without proper truck adapters was really dumb. I thank the Good Lord that He watched over me!

When you're in a tight spot I've come to find that it's actually safer to have a few pieces of wood that are large enough to put underneath the jack rather than on the jack itself. This is definitely far more stable but can still be a bit hairy

Great review! I've been debating which one to get for a few weeks now. I recommend checking the hydraulic fluid level and then bleeding the hydraulics to get the air out of the system. You'll most likely get a more lift travel with each pump. Air is compressible and no good for hydro systems.

What value could we place on the super-duty? I’m shopping now, and wondering if super duty might translate to better quality (less chance of it breaking down)? Or do floor jacks tend to be trouble free anyway, so super duty would be meaningless outside of a busy shop? One of the things I hate about my old jack is when you try to lower it down onto the jackstands, it always comes crashing down (there is no slow).

Hey Justin, my names Gregg. Just finished watching your video on you deciding to purchase your Harbor Freight 4ton extrem green Daytona floor jack. You ask the question, if we thought you chose the right floor jack. Really just a couple of 3 things that you need to consider when making that decision. #1: Cost How much can you afford to spend on a floor jack? #2: What is your intended use for this new floor jack? Are you going to be working on just your 2 car & that's all? Or are you doing side jobs @ night & on weekends? Or are you taking it to a full blown garage. Also what type vehicles are you going to be lifting (low ground clearance vehicles, pickup truck, 4x4's)? #3: Last but not least, warranty. I could be mistaken but I believe 1yr is the longest warranty any of the Daytona floor jacks have except for the YELLOW Daytona Supper Duty 3ton floor jack which has a 3yr warranty. That's the same jack that Snap-on tried taking them to court on copyright infringement. Snap-on didn't win. Thank you for your channel. Gregg Muse

I'm trying to find a jack that's efficient for me also. I have an 02 Trailblazer which I'm going to do a brake job on in the springtime. Years ago I had a jack where if you pump it up one time and it shot up until it hits something solid than jack it up as usual. I think it was called daytona racing jack. I found it at Sam's club. I would love to find something like the ease of that one.

Just bought a 4-ton after watching this video and the other one on Daytona floor jack. I think the 4-ton is a better value as you said it. I got 6 lbs truck and 6 lbs travel trailer. The 4-ton works better. The 3-ton is too light for me.

How come you didn't compare it to the 3 ton professional jack that harbor freight compared to snap on jack?

What do you do when you jack at the pinch weld? Use a special slotted pad?
@JustinDowDIYcentralhighway
@JustinDowDIYcentralhighway 4 жыл бұрын
Nope. Pinch weld should hold up and it's under the car where you'll never see it so if it gets a little scratched or dented oh well. nature of the game. Not going to see it anyway. Cheers!

If it’s designed to be the lift point for the vehicle then the pinch weld will usually hold it. Now if the pinch weld is completely rotted out (Chevy Venture & Nissan Sentra) come to mind you have bigger issues like your car folding in half if you get hit hard.

I went with the 3 ton low profile. It works great on my k1500, older impala and my Avalon Touring.

How heavy is this? Im looking for A jack I can keep in my truck for emergency's like flat tires.

Did you add hydraulic fluid? if not, the reservoir is probably mostly empty making the rapid pumping not as effective as it should be. It was clear that your pumping action range was very limited.

I bought one recently and can say I noticed the low profile one is worse imo as it only goes about an inch lower where i cannot fathom a situation where the regular 3 ton daytona wouldn't fit but secondly the low profile one pumps up about 30-40% slower and for anyone who regularly works under a car you know this is the biggest factor in buying these lifts.

I have a quick jack that I bought from Harbor Freight with the quick pedal in the back. It does meet the frame quicker, however because of the lift rate, it is hard to jack up if you are lifting a heavier vehicle. I don’t see that jack offered anything from Harbor Freight. For smaller cars it’s great, not so much for full size cars, or trucks. The jack that you’re showing looks to be better than the one that I purchased, for heavier vehicles.

I recommend putting Harbor Freight Coupons App on your phone, it's 3rd party, NOT the official HF APP.. every coupon in US updated constantly, "add to cart" all the coupons you want including your free item, they scan your phone, never cut a coupon again!

Which one would you recommend for a DIYer doing routine maintenance like rotating the tires and oil changes? I am still bummed you're not a neighbor😍😀 Thanks Justin once again for sharing your thoughts and videos, Rodney

Rodney Widger I’d recommend the same one in this video. It’s overall perfect for most anything you’ll run into car, SUV, or Truck 👍

Justin since you have a relationship with harbor freight maybe you can answer this question. Is it true that the yellow 3 ton Daytona Jack is built to a higher standard than the rest of the Daytona Jack’s??? I’m sure everyone would like to know and It can guide our purchases better.

Pintch welds that run along the seem of the body. sometimes you might see a hard plastic piece under Neath. That's a good spot too

@@JustinDowDIYcentralhighway Thanks. I usually set the Jack at the welds but maybe I’ll start jacking from a different spot so the stands can go where the pinch welds are. Thanks for a great video with energy and isn’t boring like many others.
