Hey Jon, I have very recently moved over to an air blower by a company called BLO. For unprotected paintwork it is a real pain, but using it in conjunction with Angelwax bluerinse via a lance it gives an unprotected car enough 'beading' allowing the blower to work effortlessly (I use this 'trick' even when heading to cut or polish the car). It really has changed my outlook on the need for drying towels which IMHO end up costing more in the long run than the cost of one larger purchase in the BLO dryer.

Had my silverback well over a year now and love it. I use your trick with the baby hair brush after it's been washed to fluff up the fibres and it stays good as new.

Thanks for the vid John I haven’t got into micro fibre yet, been too busy accumulating products. I been using a faux chammy which seems to do the job. I will move up to the micros next year when the weather picks up. Even with what I have bought so far my garage/diy cave is getting short on storage space.

I am currently in love with the CarPro dehydrate, the smaller of the 2 so it's easier to wring out. It's twist knot technology just like the gyeon series. Just drag and its bone dry with very little pressured contact at all if any which is what we want so we don't induce marring. I don't use any drying aids either I would recommend especially if you own more than one car and wish to wash and dry both without having a sopping wet gorilla towel.

I moved from waffle weave to the in2detailing drinker. I use the waffle weave for motorbikes as they are the right size and the drinker for my car. Seems to have lost its edge now after 6 months of being used once a week but still pretty good. Will probably carry it through to the spring and grab myself a fresh one.

I haven't found a particular winner, honestly. I did, however, find that I prefer a 16x16 size towel because they are just so much easier to wring out and I'd rather wring it out one or twice per panel than wreck my hands trying to wring a towel that you can do a quarter or half a car at a time.

Doesn't overtime a leaf blower just makes sense since you can only use it in your driveway as well as to dry off your car? Are there downsides that I'm missing? You can find cordless leaf blowers on Amazon for like $69. Same with power washers; they are far cheaper than I anticipated and they can do my siding, concrete, fencing, trash and recycling bins, and of course my car. I was looking at the spray pumps, but if you've got a garage, I don't, why not go all in?

Ive had and used AutoFinesse's drying towel for months, used it on over 150 vehicles, multiples times daily before washing it and it's honestly my favourite, it sucks water up, it's soft, never had any lint issue, washes and becomes brand new, only issue I have with it is that once it is dry and you use it then it doesn't perform as well until wet which is odd but regardless a very good towel and reasonably priced.

Hi Jon. Do you recommend to damp the drying towel before drying or it's not necessary?

no you will just loose absorption. a dry towel works better than a wet one. You can spritz some drying aid onto the panel or towel maybe, although I dont subscribe that a towel needs to lubricated but putting a drying aid on the panel can really make life easier. certain things like this fall into the catagory of each to their own. As long as you dont go turbo buffing your towel with loads of pressure into or over the paint anything goes.

I have the Korean dual twist pile towel that you recommend, it was great for the first use, but not so for the second use. Should I be washing it after every use or am I missing something else? Cheers

I tend to wash it after every use. maybe in summer ill sometimes just hang it. did you wash it with just pure non bio. no tumble drying either.

@@ForensicDetailing I didn’t wash it lol… just let it dry in the garage. I’ve since watched the video on washing drying towels so going to get some liquid non-bio stuff tomorrow.

I prefer using two medium size than a bigger one, because bigger one becomes heavy and not easy to manipulate.
