Patients frequently come to me with questions about the best type of cheek filler. The answer - It depends on what area of the cheek is being filled. If we are filling the anterior cheek or under eye, I always, always use Restylane-L. For the zygomatic bone area, I find that the best choices are Voluma, Restylane Lyft and Restylane Contour. Lastly, for the soft tissue area of the cheek, I use either Restylane Defyne, Restylane Contour or Voluma. One of the most important aspects to remember when filling cheeks is that filling the correct area is just as important as using the correct filler.

A native of California, Dr. Benjamin Talei graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a degree in Physiological Sciences. He received his medical degree at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. Dr. Talei then went on to complete his residency training in Head and Neck Surgery at Columbia University and Cornell University Medical Centers, New York Presbyterian Hospital. Following his residency program, Dr. Talei became one of the only surgeons in the country to complete two separate fellowships in Facial & Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery including a fellowship at the Vascular Birthmark Institute of New York. In addition, Dr. Talei is a respected author, speaker and humanitarian.

I was injected with contour in the anterior cheek area, and it is in fact creating a downward sagging vs a lifting effect.

Dr what do you think abt fat graft for forehead..does it cause blind or dangerous for eyes

I got told by my doctor she was injecting me the same product of some months before (Restylane) in the cheeks, instead she used Fillorga Artfiller Universal. It’s a much more new product no FDA approved and I don’t know if it’s safe in the long time, I didn’t want it. Is it legal to do something like this? How is the patient safe if the doctor tells its one product and then uses another one when you can’t look at it? I feel so betrayed

I have this filler injected in my cheeks and jaw. It was done in summer 2020 and everything still looks nice. Filorga is a French company so it has to have European approval of health and safety.

@@demoniczek27 thank you, I feel a bit more reassured. Anyway I don’t think different brands of fillers should be injected one over the other in a short period of time because the result might look uneven. I have a couple of bumps and don’t want to inject another brand to correct them. Because I contacted other more skilled injectors and they use Te0xane.

@@CamilaSaurus to me too. It also sounds hard to prove in court. I wish consultations could be recorded because I got told false or even inappropriate things during years of consultations by different doctors’.

@@iphoneverdepiccolo966 I'm not an expert but won't keep on adding fillers make you look like a pillow? Dissolve them first and start anew
