They are very different. And I knew which were which immediately based on your nosing descriptions. Right on the money. My wife and I have the 15 at home and had the 10 and 12 the other day at a bar. The 15 is incredible, but I was shocked at how good the low proof 12 is when I tasted. For us it won out over the 10, but the 10 has better mouthfeel. The 10 improves significantly with the addition of a small amount of water. It tames the heat and brings out a lovely orange fruitiness. Cheers!

I got a bottle of old rip 10 year a couple months ago. The customer of mine is a liquor distributor and was able to work a deal with one of the stores he supplies for me. I got it for a darn good deal too. Paid $200. It gets better every time I have a pour

Was fortunate enough to get the 15 year old bottle today. The package store I frequent most gave out tickets throughout the year for every dollar spent on bourbon. I was the number one ticket pulled and I was able to get this bottle for MSRP $200. Also at numerous 12 pick Wellers Full Proof for $50. Great day for sure.

It’s the opposite for me. I’ve only had the 10 year and the 15 year both at a restaurant I go to. The 15 year, the bitter oak taste to me overtook everything on the taste. I was really disappointed. And it seemed hotter to me than the 10. Also, the 15 year to me as far as just overall taste was just flat. The 10 year was very complex, drank well below its proof for me and I just thought it was wonderful. Vanilla, powdered sugar, caramel and a sweet tobacco note.

No pappy this year, I actually could have had the 10 or 12 yr, but I opted for another in a raffle. I had the old rip years ago, great bottle, just grabbed something else. What did I grab….now I have twin EH Taylor barrel proofs, lol. Nice blind, merry Christmas and cheers pal

i love the review but i feel the premise is a tad wrong. i realize they are all in fact renditions of the pappy lineup but there is a reason one is called old rip van winkle, one is lot b, and one is the real pappy van winkle. the reason is, they are meant to be different, comparing the 15 20 and 23 year old 'pappy van winkle' is a what i expect when i read the title to this video. sorry to be such a critic, just wanted to give an honest opinion.
