@@bens1cultist405 No he's right. The counter only shows the amount you put down, not the amount left after a battle finishes. So he had to check how many were left alive and subtract from 50.

As much as I love Tom, counting to 50 is a pretty low bar.

@@danbarber6669 He had to do it 31 times for a 27 minute long video that almost assuredly took him multiple hours to make + edit, just so he could get a somewhat accurate sheet of data.

Even without taking cost into account, by the rules of the match as they were set forward, it was a draw.

@@rochnrollhs Not to mention, the way it took on that squad of Shield Boys was nothing short of exceptional. For most scenarios, it's an absolute powerhouse. I wonder how well he'd do when surrounded as compared to the other ranged units.

Is it bias or is it just seeing which one would be the best in the most situations?

@@greyep3145 if it was the latter then there would be a scenario where there were a few fast units: cavalry, wheelbarrow, valkries, etc.

I'm a little disappointed pirate captain wasn't there since sure he has a sword but he's still primarily ranged unit, his sword actually does very underwhelming damage compared to his blunderbuss~

the hwacha vs sheild really made me want to see a fireworks hwacha

It's because the swordcaster can cast swords from top down and has I think the second highest health out of all the ranged units

@@an1m8r Swordcaster is known to Death, sadly.

A lot of that comes down to stability. The Hwacha is the lightest of the TABS siege engines and is at it's best when all the enemies are slowly approaching in a straight line. Because of it's lacking weight, it can make quick turns to face a flanking threat, but it risks knocking itself over in the process. The Swordcaster obviously doesn't have this issue, so dispite having a much shorter range, he is much better suited for targets approaching from multiple angles.

I have been waiting to see Tom do this for so long. I don't think it'll ever happen haha!

Keeping good distance is fine. It's keeping too much distance, and throwing yourself off the map. Thats bad.

To be fair, a unit that kills itself is not a good unit.

To be fair, it doesn't matter if they're disqualified or actually get their 21 kills, they're not advancing to the next round anyway.

yeah the first round needed a wall behind them!! on most maps you can place the unit somewhere where he wont fall off backwards!

Right? Like, still entertaining, but it seems to take away a chance from some of the lesser units.

And he's done a really good job of adhering to the scientific method by having a consistent experiment and rules.

@@Mini_Squatch In the words of Adam Savage, _"The only difference between screwing around and science is writing it down."_ The only thing it'd've been neat to see would be the unit point cost, to help get an idea of how much "bang for your buck" you get out of the successful units in any given round.

I really agree, some more things to note here is some units take a lot more than just 3 cheerleaders to reach their critical firing speed point, for example the snake archer can be insanely good if given time to spool up with enough cheer leaders and can single handedly make his own army but is useless if not give enough cheer leaders or time.

@@CongaYT And some things are better to have more base units with less cheerleaders per unit. That way they don't launch themselves off a cliff.

Does it really matter, though? They both failed.

The bomb thrower blew itself up because the enemies got too close as the match played out. It was overwhelmed by the enemy, but performed admirably. The bomb cannon destroyed itself by hitting its own cheerleaders near the very beginning of the match. The enemy force was irrelevant. The bomb cannon's worst enemy was its own incompetence.

The bomb cannon shouldn't have been disqualified. Just because it had incompetent cheerleaders walking in front of it doesn't mean every battle will be like that. This wasn't a fair judge of the bomb cannon's abilities.

Travithymia Indeed a bomb cannon is pretty OP if the cheerleaders weren’t in front of it

The shouter uses melee attacks too so was not allowed entry.
