Best guitar i ever put my hands on was PRS NF3. Our rhythm guitarist lent me his son's and was blown away by how good it sounded with just a little bit of boost. A couple years later my church gifted me one and i love that guitar to pieces.

A 2017 Shell Pink Fano TC6 (Telecaster with TV Jones Supertrons), formerly owned by Matt from Kings of Leon. It was the only time I played a guitar and was like "I have to find a way to buy this." So I sold a bunch of stuff and did it. Still happy.

Acoustic, it's a Taylor 814. I played one G chord, and it sounded like butter. Electric, it's probably a stock Duesenberg Starplayer TV. Sounds fantastic on the clean channel. Didn't need gain, although you could use it with a Doozy. Bass, I keep going back to the good old P-Bass. It just has the sound that everyone uses.

My 2001 Taylor 614-ce is my best sounding guitar. If I had to pick an electric guitar, It's probably my CIJ J Mascis Jazzmaster with Curtis Novak pickups or my AVRI Jaguar. My 1971 Fender Bronco and Vintage Mustang parts guitar are honorable mentions.

One of the best for me is the Epiphone Worship Tutorials Gold Top y’all upgraded years ago that I own now. On top of that, probably a 1956 Les Paul Junior I owned for a little while but wasn’t practical for worship music at all. Best acoustic is one of my buddies cheap Johnson dreadnought style guitar. Thing booms more than any Martin I’ve ever touched. Sounds phenomenal.

I played a bit on a PRS P22 when I ultimately got my Gibson Les Paul Traditional Pro. That P22 was the only guitar that felt and sounded better in all metrics than the Gibson I ended up buying, but honestly, I don't know if it would have fully worked for me. That Gibson, now 11 years later, is one of my favorite purchases, all time. Sounds amazing, feels even better, and can play anything except slide (because the action is so amazingly low).

For me, I owned a 2009 PRS Smokeburst McCarty….a thin lacquer version of a 58 Les Paul with all the PRS McCarty elements. The 58/08 pickups were incredible and the tap coil made it so versatile. That guitar always..ALWAYS sounded good! Cant for the life of me understand why I got rid of it.

Best guitar I have ever played is my 1994 Ibanez s custom. It's a real made in Japan Ibanez that plays so smooth and was in new condition when I got it a few years ago. The pickups have that classic humbucker sound, and the hsh configurations make it extremely versatile. Honestly that and my 1991 Ibanez jem are my favorite guitars to play at church. No idea why more people don't give the "super strat" guitars a try for praise and worship music.

The best guitar I ever had the opportunity to play was a Gibson J60 owned by a youth pastor I've met a couple of times. That thing had strumming headroom for ever and massive depth to the sound. Another noteworthy instrument was a R.Moreno classical guitar I considered buying - it was an incredibly responsive instrument for a very low price, but required a much more gentle touch than I could manage.

I had a Fender American born Tele from like 2010 or something. Bought it off Reverb, as soon as I held it I loved it... I can't explain it, it was just pure heaven to hold and it sounded AMAZING... but it wrecked me, truly. Times got hard quick and I had to sell it, and ever since I just can't quite love a guitar, because none of them sound or feel like that one. Now I have a Reverend Flatroc that is quite nice, but only time will tell if it reaches that status.

The best sounding electric guitar I’ve ever played was my 1981 Ibanez AS100 with Super 58 pickups. The neck was perfect and played like butter. The Super 58’s were creamy in the neck position. The bridge was biting but not harsh. Clean it was articulate and overdriven or distorted it just screamed. Wish I still had it.

I’ve always sold one to get the other until I come across something I can’t part with. Then I keep it. But I grab each each guitar based upon the tone I’m reaching for. I could never put one above the other 🤷‍♂️

I was at Gruhns Guitars in Nashville. I picked up a Nylon String Martin. 1941. It was $10,000. I started playing. Next when I checked the time, 45 minutes had past. It felt like 10 minutes. I was lost in how great it sounded, and well it played. If I had $10,000 to spend it would have been mine. IMO it was worth more than that.
