Thank you so much for sharing different types of white to achieve different effects. I would have thought that just using part A of the resin without the hardener would have caused a sticky result, as the resin can not cure, but I love how it can be incorporated and still achieve positive results. I am a beginner, so your videos are invaluable in helping newbies learn how to use different mediums in resin.

I can really relate to what you said about the alcohol ink. First time I used resin I wanted to see that drop effect in a pendant. So I added a drop of this and a drop of that with white in between then I applied heat for the bubbles and it got really hot on my art table. I mean I felt like I was in front of a fire. And it turned out that I was! It was completely invisible and I could not see any flames but I felt it and realized it was on fire! I hit it with my hand and then a towel. It went out but I learned a valuable lesson. The same lesson you are telling us about. But I will say that the pendant came out absolutely gorgeous with a rock looking appearance. If it were in a green color it would have looked just like a creek bottom. Anyhow I lived and got a great first piece. But be careful guys. I loved this video and learned a tremendous amount that I can’t wait to try out. Keep up the good work. I loved that you talked and you were really good at it. A great teacher. 🤟🏼🤍

I just loves me some Cheddar! Sending nose boops to him from my kitties. Love the tutorial here! I was told you could make your own paste such as you did, but that the paste then had to be mixed into some regular pre-mixed resin (A AND B) in order to cure correctly. interesting stuff, to say the least. I'm hoping to buy some part A just to experiment with my own pastes one of these days.

Only thing that was frustrating was the fact that you're so soft spoken so I'd jack the volume up but then you'd turn on your heat gun and it would feel like I just stepped out on a busy airport tarmac and I'd scramble to turn it down or mute! 🤣 Just some feedback, I still watched from beginning to end, I subscribed and i hit the 👍... thanks again!!

I think in the mica only they is no titanium in it . The titanium is important in it . Just add a little bit of titanium powder in it and you will see the difference . For us here in Australia is about $41.00 per little bottle and it is very expensive for us.

It's oke, but you use the titanium paste and resin at 19:52 without hardner, so i still don't know what it's gonna do.... Also, when you leave the white stripe to settle for 15 minutes, and then blow, it will last better, they say. So i still don't know if the paste is good without hardner and if it's works at the end... :)

Like the different types example you posted It helps a lot for beginners.but I would like to know as the title said, what is the best white for resin because I tried with acrylic paint with resin and over time it turn to yellow. Watch videos and and some says you must use pigment and other says is the type of resin. Some are bad and makes yellow over time. Need some extra help
@ResinAsYouWish
@ResinAsYouWish 2 жыл бұрын
Oh I see! Ok, here is what I’ve experienced about white yellowing. It has only happened to me with white acrylic paint if I overheated it with the heat gun and if I was using UV resin. All resin will yellow over time so I choose UV resistant countertop resin. I did an entire countertop for a hair salon (the white I used was castin’craft) and it’s been two years and there has been no yellowing. Keep in mind that UV resistant does not mean UV proof, all resin, when exposed to direct sunlight will eventually yellow. Also, some resin automatically has a yellow-ish tint to it when mixed, I would strongly encourage you to look at the resin you are using, not the paint.

For me the question is "best for what?" Each kind has their purpose. Do I want cells in my waves do I want waves that look like they are being blown in the wind, or do I want it to look like the wave is deeper in the water? So then it becomes which white is a top white and which is bottom? Pastes are normally top whites and cell easier. Cast and craft is a top white but makes them look more wind blown unless ypu add a lot more heat or alcohol. And acrylic paint and micas are heavier so they sink and create a "bottom" wave. If you look at the acrylic paste and mica you can even sew how it is darker because the color sank down to the board itself. So when looking for a white, have an idea of what you are wanting out of your waves or project in general and ask if it is a top white or bottom white if it doesn't say.
@michellers1789

Super video, thank you! I have tried different additives of white to duplicate your waves/clouds. All I end up with is my white disbursing evenly across my piece, like an even layer of a transparent white. I have never achieved the distinct patterns, waves, lines, etc., and never a cell. Any clue what I'm doing wrong? Thanks a bunch.

P.S. most alcohol ink companies that have more than 1 white will normally have it on the bottle how deep of a white it is to tell ypu how well it drops other colors and this will tell you which one to use depending on what ypu want to get out of it.

I am allergic to resin. If it touches my skin or if I smell it fumes I itch all over my feet snd hands. Be careful with that stuff and your kitty too.

Why are you not wearing a mask? I'm scared to work with resin without mask for eyes and breathing

He’s waiting to get out of that room because it’s killing him. That smell is bad. I didn’t realize.😮

My understanding (I asked the vet) the area should be well ventilated, which mine is. Epoxy has three states, uncured, cured and powder and only cured is safe. It’s the most toxic when you heat it. I usually kick him out of the room if I can’t open the garage or I’m sanding - he throws a tantrum on the other side of the door every time - this also why you hear him yelling through the cat door more than you see him 😹

i find your tutorial helpful as was intended but darn,so many commercials and you want money to join,there are alot of people on here who do as well in the teaching department but do not get carried away asking for money here and let alone on a video,im only one board in and have gone thru 4 commercials already,so tho i would of liked it a whole lot better,i cannot watch someone so focused on money rather then art.i dont mean to sound disrespectful but the amount bothered me so much that i felt the need to comment tho i really dont like sounding mean,please dont take it that way,anyway ty for showing the differances and i had not used the paste before,i shall try it now tho.

I'm not offended, but there are things to know about this. Firstly: My videos are really long, that is why KZfaq inserts commercials on the breaks - so it's mostly because we are looking at an hour long video. Secondly, I don't make enough money on KZfaq to break even on what I spend to make the videos. I do this because I love it, not because it makes money. I have a full time job so all of this is done in my spare time, including the hours it takes to record, edit and post. I'm truly sorry that the commercials were an unhappy experience for you.

thank you for tthe reply,i really dislike leaving disparagin remarks,but you tube on the whole has really taken the commercials to a really high ceiling,as a watcher when you find a tutorial that you really like,it seems at the worst moments you have to break,i know i could pay more to have commercial free videos,but,i also am astrugling artist,been doing resin for over 15 yrs,when most of the resins yellowed,ha,and wont pay for addless,,,i enjoyed your video,and subed,it seems i still learn things after all these years,again,ty for not being offended,lisa@@ResinAsYouWish
