Brian Glick teaching style is very close to Danaher's one, his youtube channel is one of the best out there, so really looking forward to this series of intructionals on bjjfanatics. Btw there is just no way to measure what John has done for the sport in terms of development.

I really like this, thanks! Im 41 and subbed a 22 year old semi pro boxer who outweighs me by about 20 lbs of muscle. I subbed him 12 times in 6 minutes. insane. Ive only been going for 6 months, but this guy was a day one white belt.

@@041882 I wrestled as a kid and am still decent at it. So it was mostly arm drags to the back or snapdowns to the back. He was really chill too. Im more proud of escaping mount against a much larger brown belt from Sao Paulo

I respect that Mr Glick is able to with against much larger opponents, but I, for one, won't be able to work this kind of game as a 5'11", 250 lb, 60 year old, with only moderate flexibility. However, I can really see the value, if I had his physical attributes. Kudos!

Great talk but I need more demo. Im new to bjj. Does anyone else fast before class? I get social anxiety from rolling with strangers and it causes more upset than anything.
@thebeastisback1996
@thebeastisback1996 Жыл бұрын
I usually train at 6pm so I eat about 5 hours before training usually and that is good for me. I would not like to eat a big meal within an hour or two before a class. The social anxiety will pass with time, eventually you will realize that all you want to focus on is keeping yourself safe and trying out whatever techniques you want to work on. Also you will eventually realize that no one in class is paying attention to you and there is no need to feel any pressure to perform, everyone is in their own heads most of the time

@Cyrus I hope so. I always worry about who will be my rolling partners. I hate asking strangers to partner with me. Just the thought makes me feel sick to my stomach.

@@Nepthutbh we all get a bit nervous for partnering up with people we don’t know, it’s normal to feel nervous. You’re pushing out of your comfort zone and will reap the rewards so don’t sweat it ! Also I try not to eat before training as I think Iv better cardio fasted. Lol
