My hasband's mother is diabetic. She is elderly as well and should be excused from fasting. But in the month of Ramadan, she wakes up early to take her medication, she read quran snd prays and takes it easy on herself throughout the day. I think maybe she does take 2 small naps and that helps her to regulate her blod sugar. She is truly an amazing woman, and InshaAllah one day I will be as strong as her. For now I am young, I am healthy. I never had issue (so far ) fasting while pregnant or breast feeding. Alhumdulilah! But I feel myself getting older and the natural pains of the body after having 6 children. I don't think that by her age I will so so strong, but one can pray and ask Allah for help in maintaining strength.

May Allah swt bless her and give her strength especially during this month. She doesn't need to feel guilty since it's not something she can take control of. The month of Ramadan is not only about fasting anyway, ofc, it's an important factor but it is a month for Muslims to strengthen their relationship with their Almighty, to keep away from sinning, to leave our bad habits that harms our soul,..

*USE RAMADAN TO DEVELOP YOURSELF* Today is the 6th day of Ramadan, and we hope that you are able to strive the hardest in order to make the most out of Ramadan and develop yourself as a true worshipper of Allah. It is important to always strive to become better and better, and we should never be satisfied with how we are. Even the best Muslim out there can become even better if he strives hard enough. In Ramadan most of us become better worshippers of Allah, we recite more Quran, pray more, make more du’a, etc. However, when the months finishes and we go back to our daily routines, many of us put the mushaf on the shelf for next year, don’t stand in the night prayer until the next Ramadan, and start doing the same sins that we stopped doing when Ramadan started. The purpose of Ramadan, however, is to train ourselves into becoming better worshippers of Allah, and take something from it and make it into a permanent part of our lives, even after Ramadan finishes. So have the goal of continuously trying to better yourself throughout the month, and taking some of what you got used to doing and making it a permanent part of your life. May Allah make you and your family amongst those who really benefit from this blessed month by learning from it and implementing whatever you learn even after it finishes. Ameen. The Prophet ﷺ said: *“The best of deeds is that which is done consistently, even if it is little.”* So it’s very important to be consistent with one’s worship, and that’s better than doing something big one time only. You can attain consistency in worship by, for example, donating a small monthly sadaqah to our projects, and Allah can take it in His right Hand and make it as big as a mountain for you in reward. Just imagine the immense reward you will in sha Allah get for your sadaqah in the akhirah, which is a time every human being is in the direst need of it. If you’re already one of our amazing monthly donors, try making multiple one-off donations in this blessed month to really reap from its merits and rewards. May Allah raise you up among the siddiqoon in the hereafter - the best of people after the prophets - and may He SWT give both you and us the tawfeeq to participate in as much khayr as we are able to. Ameen.

May Allah bless u Mufti for continuing helping people with the guidance from Allah. This topic is right on time Alhamdulillah. My goal is to stop smoking and up hold my obligation to Allah in Ramadan. However I gave in to smoking and mess up my fasting eve though I didn't eat nor drink any water. Some day I was good, other days no good. I'm depressed and I'm in the middle of Ramadan. 2 to 3 weeks to go. My Allah help me.

*A VERSE THAT GIVES HOPE* This verse gives hope to every one of us. This verse describes for us Allah’s vast Mercy and His Forgiveness. *Read it carefully with your heart!* Allah the Most High said: *"Whoever commits evil or wrongs themselves then seeks Allah’s forgiveness will certainly find Allah All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”* _(Quran 4:110)_ Allah gives us hope and shows us how Merciful He is. Whatever you have commited of sins there is hope for you. On the condition that you do exactly what Allah stated in the verse. Allah is ready to forgive us for all of our sins, but the big question is: *Are we ready to repent sincerely to Allah TODAY?* I hope that we can use this opportunity of being in the blessed month of Ramadan, to do a sincere repentance. Verily, Allah has given us a promise through this verse that we will always find Him to be the All-Forgiving, The Most Merciful when we return to Him.

# Sir Mufti Menk Please explain Although giving more is always better but some people are on tight budgets these days so Please educate us that Do we have to pay fydia for fasting of 30 days of ramzan to a Muslim who is fasting only? Or We can give it to anyone for each missed day to a needy or hungry person? Is it money equal to a full day’s meal or Money for one meal? As so many people say different things in this context. Please explain it so that all get benefit from it , Please pray for all Muslims around the world And for Imran khan and Pakistan especially Jazak Allah khair

Okay, I need to know one thing, it's totally different thing though, can I listen to non Muslim's life advice? For example, Benedict Cumberbatch's (if you know him) "don't think just do". Look, the recent lock down gave me so much depression and anxiety sort of stuff. And my friends recommended to listen to some of lectures of Benedict Cumberbatch and I did, and they've worked well. (back then I didn't looked into The Holy Quran that much but now I do) So the question is, is that okay?

if the content is not haram then I believe there is no problem. However, to cure depression and anxiety you have to go back to Allah. In the Quran Allah says "Verily with the remembrance of Allah will hearts find peace" I do not believe YT comment section is the best place to get Islamic advice.

Only after few days of fasting I feel as I have been in car crash, I am dizzy, extremely tired and simply cannot carry on with my day to day activities (although I enjoy fasting itself, and I have very strong self control, but consequences are too much for me). Do I still have to force myself to fast?

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh Mufti Menk, I have a very important question to ask! What is suggested for people suffering from mental health for example bipolar disorder? If the person has consulted with the doctor and the doctor suggests that it’s not wise to keep such short brakes of a few hours between two types of medications as it may lead to adverse side effects and worsening of symptoms. What can be done in that case? . Thank you.
