In this video we review and compare the differences between 5000k and 6000k HID bulbs and how they look with respect to color differences as well as light output on the road.
*Check out the bulbs we found work best on these trucks HERE* 💪😎
9006 C6s LED BULBS used for the fogs
amzn.to/2EaeYOY
INNOVITED 55w HID KIT for the low beams
amzn.to/3dBq6TK
HIKARI CANBUS DECODERS for the low beams
amzn.to/2Eb2JBQ
LICENSE PLATE LED CANBUS
amzn.to/2Vrbcq4
Often when the Kelvin or k or temperature color of the bulb is changed or raised the usable light output from the light is typical sacrificed and results in poor lighting. Although blue, cool blue, or even purple head lights or HID bulbs give a custom look to a vehicle it may actually make your lighting worse and give you less visibility on the road and especially in wet weather conditions.
This video gives an unbiased review and a direct comparison with all factors kept the same with the exception of the bulb change between a 5k and 6k HID bulbs.

I have used 4300k (yellow, the default setup), upgraded to 6000k (bluish) and finally settled on 5500k, which gave a better illumination compared to 4300k and 6000k. The problem with 6000k is that it looks nice when roads are good, but doesn't inspire confidence on not-so-good or bad roads. The problem is aggravated during rains and fog when the visibility drops down. 5500k seems the best of both worlds.

Have the 6000k in my set up. Looks great. I think it depends on the function you are trying to get out of the headlights. I’m in the city and they work fine with area because of street lights building lights etc. my friend lives in the country and likes his 5000k setup due to lights in the area. Both setups look good

I've ran 6000k in all my vehicles that had projectors. never had an issue with seeing "more" or one being safer than the other. I chose to run the 5000k in my Jetta and got flashed all the time from people thinking it was my high beams. to be honest getting blinded from ass holes thinking my beams were on was more dangerous than running the 6000k to begin with, i'll use the 6000k when i pick up my ram next week

@@InSaN3ViSioN 5000k HID is about the same as a 6000k LED. AKA if you have 5000k HIDs and LED fogs. getting 6000k LEDs would most closely match. LEDs do not work the same way and are not colored the same way as HIDs. Nor do they have the same intensity as HIDs. The most intense light output of an HID is 5000k. Please dont discuss technology you obviously dont understand. This is how misinformation is spread.

I wish there was an "in between" color. I've seen 5500K interior and exterior lighting on VLEDS website. Why can't they make them for headlights? That would be a pure white color. I have a set of 5500K interior lighting kit and license plate lights for my 2009 Honda Civic Si. Perfect white light.

@BoostedMotorsports
@BoostedMotorsports 6 жыл бұрын
Hey Ben. They are cool if you are going for the offroad look or want to fit 35" tires but with my truck being 2wd I won't be lifting or leveling. Also it loses a bit of gas mileage when you level it cause its not as aerodynamic after.

I may seem bad, so sorry, but when I see people driving with blue lights at night, I think... stupid. Safety is more important than cool. At 5:20, put a finger from each hand on opposite sides of the beam pattern where they meet the line in the pavement. (Yes, I know, that _seems_ funny.) The 5000K have a much wider, usable beam. There's an obvious difference in distance from each side of the truck. The 5000K also project stronger/brighter at the end of the beam, which means the beam goes further. The 5000K will be better for bad weather. All equate to better safety! Just make sure what you buy is legal/DOT. It's not impossible to be on the wrong side of a suit if in an accident at night, since more people are aware of legal versus illegal bulbs. :-) And, please, properly adjust your lights! If I could actually slap every person that blinds me on the road at night, I would not have any hands! :-p
@BoostedMotorsports
@BoostedMotorsports 5 жыл бұрын
Good points! I too prefer the 5000k for same reasons you mentioned and the fact that you can see in wet weather. The 6000k is almost useless in wet weather and the light just bounces off the road. Lights are aimed correctly and I've never had anyone flash their lights back at me 👍👍👍
@netzoned
@netzoned 5 жыл бұрын
Sometimes I say something as a blanket statement, such as, "And, please, properly adjust your lights!" I am sure you knew that was not meant for _you,_ but I thought I would clarify. :-) Anyway, IMHO, I actually think the 5000K look better! _And,_ if someone wrecks into me at night, one of the first things I will do is try to find out if their lights are legal... if I am not mangled up! :-p (Of course, also, I would not slap anyone!) ... BTW, thanks for the reply, and good video!

If you like the blue, but you're worried you're missing out on extra lighting, just go with the blue (6000k). You'll be happier. I've had one of each in my '06 Pathfinder for a couple months for a thorough comparison and the difference in light output is minuscule. And the 6000k just look cooler, compared to the 5000k which just looks factory. (I'm 33 y/o lol)
