Ben Wayne Hey bro as you know I have been admiring your videos for 2 years now Lol. I wanted to know if you would be interested in having your videos on another platform as well as this one. Friends of mine own a website called reupspot.com. it is a site that puts a balance on hip hop culture. I have sent them some of your videos and they are interested in putting your videos on the site. They want to have an adult and mature balance to the site. I told them you would be perfect. Would you mind if they put your videos up?

I like Bentley's and all and love the refinement and performance their models showcase but if i were to choose between a Rolls Royce Phantom or Bentley Mulsanne whether as a daily driver or to be driven in i would take the Phantom any day. At the end of the day they are both uber luxury cars, it doesn't matter if one handles better on the road. I'm never going to be driving either like a hooligan or like i stole the vehicle in the first place. Luxury, high tech, comfort and attention to details is what matters most in my opinion and i would go with a Rolls Royce Phantom which is just special with nothing else able to compete on that level. If i wanted to drive sporty and have a fun drive daily since hypothetically i can afford either i'll rather buy a real sports car like a Ferrari, Lexus LFA, Lamboghini's, Aston martin or Jaguar. The Rolls Royce design is so imposing, it makes every other car look like child's play. There was a day i saw a Rolls Royce Ghost and an S550 side by side on a high way and the S class looked cheap and like a regular car next to that Rolls. The attention the Rolls got was saddening for the S class, not a soul looked at the Mercedes. It made the mistake of cruising next to a monolith of a vehicle. Its presence on the road is like nothing else period. This was the Ghost not the Phantom for that matter.
@BomberFletch316 жыл бұрын
I think the view that Rolls-Royce make cars to be driven in; while Bentley makes cars for drivers is very over-simplistic. Sure, Bentley still make fantastic grand tourers today, such as the Continental GT Speed which you mentioned, but it seems as though you've forgotten about the Wraith: the most powerful Rolls-Royce ever made. You're right, though, in that Bentley has a racing heritage (and they still race today) whereas Rolls-Royce do not, but I think that's irrelevant when discussing road cars. Both brands are comparable because they both make high end luxury cars. I like both brands, and if money was no issue I'd have both brands in my garage.

kinda disagree with you on one point. The Mulsanne sent Rolls back to the drawing board and they had to redesign the Phantom because the Mulsanne was killing them! Rolls Royce STILL refuses to send a Phantom to do a head to head with a Mulsanne. I like the new Design of the Phantom but It's $130 plus THOUSAND dollars more than the Bentley.....but it's not a better car.

With the current range, Rolls Royce is the car for flashy, show off new money, where the car is important because it shows how much money you can spend on rubbish like the starlight roof and all the electrical stuff. The Bentley is for people who are important and want a really good quality car to travel from A to B in style.

While Rolls Royces are amazing cars I personally prefer Bentleys, specifically the Mulsanne, I just like it better, the new Continental GT looks like it will be amazing also. My buddy has a Continental GT and a Phantom so I've driven and ridden in both and with the Rolls you just can't and won't drive it anywhere, it's just too big and too expensive, it's just weird to show up anywhere in it unless you are going to a fancy restaurant or something.
@BenWayne856 жыл бұрын
I really think you hit the nail on the head with this comment!
@venom58096 жыл бұрын
I'd say 90% of the time he just drives his Escalade because you get less attention plus if anything happens to the car it doesn't cost a small fortune to fix(The Phantom got into a light fender bender one time and that was $35,000 plus to fix and it had to be shipped back to England to get fixed so yeah). I think Rolls Royces made more sense in the days when people were really chauffeured around but if you just drive yourself they seem pretty pointless. Also if I were to be chauffeured around I wouldn't want a Rolls, I would rather have a custom Mercedes Sprinter van with a bathroom, big screen TV and everything, it doesn't get more luxury than that.

How to sum up those two, without writting a book. I believe RR as brand, became a synonym for ultimate luxury on four wheels since 1930. Their uniqueness starts when you sit at the table with a RR representative, who listens to the list of your ideas of what you want. My favorite example is Phantom Serenity. RollsRoyce is also a very rare case of hand building a car thru entire process. They use only four robots at Goodwood plant. Bentley was created for motorsport purpose. Some models share names from motorsport (Brooklands, Mulsanne). It won LeMans in 1925, then it was the 8-litre. Then it was a shadow of parenting RR, (except 2003 lemans) and now it's back to its roots, with variety of Continentals, GT3 Blancpain racer, an ice-speed record, and Breitling watches. That's why no matter what Bentley you'd pick, it surely will go. Fast. With big smile on face. As for Phantom and Mulsanne. One is to be driven, and other is for driving. Driving your own Phantom, would be considered as: you're someone driver going to pick him up from an airport. Honestly, with luxury fourdoor, you can't go with anything else but Phantom or Mulsanne. (Flying Spur , Ghost is VW Phateon and BMW 7). To really compare two cars and brands, it's required to own each car and use it on daily basis. To me, RollsRoyce is like the greatest hotel I can imagine, with butler and concierge working around me, to deliver the best experience possible. Bentley is a home, where driver sits behind the wheel, as he sits at the family table.

Hello Ben Wayne, You did a great job speaking on the differences between the Bentley Motor Cars and the Rolls Royse Motor Cars. As most people are clueless about those motor cars. Rolls Royce came to be from two engineers Charles Rolls & Henry Royce who set out to build engines for aircrafts, land crafts and water crafts. Which is why you can still find Rolls Royce building jet engines today. And Bentley as you mentioned came from a racing heritage background. I personally am a driver who enjoys power and speed at my disposal when ever I have a notion to enjoy exciting motion (racing is in my blood). I enjoyed your work and I have subscribed and I look forward to checking out more of your videos. Thank you for sharing! DSW1KING

The characters of the two cars are very different. The Rolls-Royce has a soft spoken and easy way of saying "come hither" while the Bentley has a more straightforward way of saying "Lets Go". As someone who grew up in the hood, 80’s and early 90’s big body Cadillac is luxury for me. If I can ever escape and find a way to break the mold, and I could afford it, I would definitely choose the large boxy phantom over the Bentley. Just because it’s what’s ascetically pleasing to me in my opinion. And my opinion is completely subjective.

I agree with Aisha (hope I spelled that right?). Both cars have their strong points. If one could have a car with the coach doors w/umbrella, and the tech of the Mulsanne like the removable tablets, airframe steel on the armrest hinges, separate controls for the rear infotainment screens, etc it would be the perfect car. Also another strength of the Phantom is that both rear-seat passengers can enter/exit from the curb-side door, something you can't do in the Mulsanne with it's center console that takes up the floor (at least the ones I've seen). If you are ultra-rich, you certainly don't want to be exiting a vehicle against traffic ;) Also, the fold-down seat-back table in the RR seems like it would be too far away to use comfortably, while the Mulsanne has the folding airline-like picnic tables that seem much more usable.

The only thing to correct is that even in China a very small percentage of Rolls Royce and Bentley cars are driven by chauffeurs, most are driven by the owners, the long wheel versions are best sold in China because of comfort, status and to make the car look more imposing or high class not because people is been driven.

I am a brand new subscriber, thank you for your review. The luxury benchmark, in my opinion, still belongs the leader in bespoke engineering, Rolls Royce. Rolls, while not the racing leader, has a wonderful heritage of engine design and manufacturing. Think, airplane and boat engines.

Also, Bentley is the choice of British royalty. It’s the chauffeur choice of the Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth.

Certainly the Bentleys appear on KZfaq regularly... they seem prone to multiple problems and the owners are pissed off with them and often the lack of service to sort said problems out.

One comment I have for you: I love the fact that you are doing theses series, I have been watching Doug DeMuro for a long time, he is good but I would like a cool couple like you make more of these.

Enjoyed the video. One point of clarification to offer: The original Bentley and Rolls Royce factories were both bought by Volkswagen. Then, BMW purchased the licensing rights of the Rolls Royce brand from Volkswagen and started their own thing. Today, Bentley is still 100% owned by Volkswagen. The W12 engine in some of the Bentleys is the same as in the Audi A8 W12, etc. In my humble opinion, though it is sad that neither brand retains its pure British heritage anymore, the Germans have helped both brands immensely. All the new cars coming from these companies are better than they've ever been. And I want one!

not in my country. A ghost in UAE starts at around 235,000 dollars while the continental gt starts at almost 300,000.

AD M Sad, seeing the 2005 Continental GT W12s going for $35-45K all day in America.
@thecoolguy7756 жыл бұрын
Chris Nighthawk well true but they’re old. But now the continental is more expensive because it’s all new while the ghost is old.

AD M Of course! I was just pleasantly surprised when I was shopping for a nice $30-50K vehicle at how many different exotics/luxury cars still in mint condition in that range. Tons of AMGs, 08 Maseratis, Bentleys, Fisker Karmas, etc. Makes me never want to buy new(except a Ford GT, Porsche, or Ferrari that appreciate over time)

Chris Nighthawk but dude those cars will be very outdated in interior and tech. If you buy a luxury car don’t buy it more than 3 years old. I bought a 2 years old s class and Still watch I had the few new features of the facelift model

AD M I have a 2013 CLS550 right now. Absolutely love it! But I'm looking at something new, would like an AMG GTS or something more sporty.

If I want speed, I go for bentley. If I want luxury, I go for RR.
